Whilst in Selfridges last Friday I found they had an Anthropologie concession so it was a nice chance to snap some of their latest products. Anthropologie have been working with an artist I really admire : Starla Michelle who creates the most beautifully colourful flowers and animals. Her artworks have been used on textiles, plates, wall art and an entire alphabet of pretty monogrammed mugs. I

I am still featuring Maisons du Monde, the shop I fell in love with whilst in Bologna at the beginning of this month. Here is why I liked them so much - the ranges at Maison du Monde are a lesson in how to make patterns work on a wide range of products and add value and style to a business. It is the prints that add the appeal to these goods and make them stand out from other retailers. Plus

My best discovery and favourite store in Bologna, Italy was without doubt Maisons du Monde. This contemporary store felt like a mixture between Heals, West Elm and Ikea. It was packed with patterns on a wide variety of products. So this week I will be bringing you a selection of their products through my snapshots taken in store and web pictures. Their designs are all themed into collections

I have some more snapshots today from my Italian trip. Bologna is a university town, a bit like Oxford only older and larger, so one thing it has plenty of is book shops. I managed to find some interesting cover designs around the city in stores such as Feltrinelli, Zoo, and the Museum of Modern art shop.

Designer Mel Smith has created some beautiful posters as part of her new Summer In The City range, a collection of geometric prints that are an abstract vision of cityscapes. Mel had a lot of fun playing around with these designs and loved the mid-century style that emerged from the overlaid textures, and the summery palette gave what could be a drab industrial illustration a fresh, buoyant

Fran Wood has produced a new range of designs, which she has turned into screen prints, greeting cards and a tea towel. These designs all include simple animal illustrations and patterns influenced by 1970s textile and graphic motifs. The range is called 'Nouveau Animals', as Fran had noticed a strong influence of Art Nouveau during the period - some of which can be seen in her work. All Fran's

Last time I featured Copenhagen based illustrator Michelle Carlslund on P&P (in July 2014) she was planning to expand her product range. A recent check of her website revealed lovely new designs on notebooks (above & below) and an expanded collection of art prints which include circus themed characters, exotic birds, and a super contemporary alphabet.
