Privacy policy

The following applies to Primary Knowledge, Inc. (Primary Knowledge) and the JacketFlap service offered by Primary Knowledge.

Because we want you to understand the collection and uses of data that are necessary and possible on the JacketFlap platform, and to show our dedication to your privacy and security, we have established this privacy and security policy. We reserve the right to change this Statement and will provide notification of any material change at least thirty (30) days prior to the change taking effect. Collected Information

In the registration process, we collect: registration information from our users, including name, user name, and password; contact information such as email, address, occupation, and employer. Each of these different types of information is used to provide the JacketFlap service. Registration information is used to authenticate users and to support the ability for users to submit updates to information on the site and to guard against those who might be interested in copying all of our information. The registrations also make it possible for our users to post to our forums. Contact information is used to provide information on service updates.

In the operation of the JacketFlap service, we collect and store information such as searches performed on the JacketFlap service. We analyze this information to determine ways in which users are using the JacketFlap service and ways that we can improve the JacketFlap service.

If at some point Primary Knowledge sells all or a portion of its assets, or merges with another entity, user information is an asset that may be transferred or acquired by a third party. We will notify all affected users of any such transaction and, consistent with our privacy promises, users will have the opportunity to retrieve their user information and cease usage of the JacketFlap service. After such a transaction, the third party that becomes the custodian of the user information would have the right to continue using the user information solely as set forth in this policy.

Primary Knowledge may also collect and analyze from visitors and users certain information regarding the use of the JacketFlap service. Information collected may include but is not limited to web site traffic volume, frequency of visits, type and time of transactions, type of browser and operating system, etc. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems, administer the site, and improve the quality and types of service delivered. We may provide non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information derived from the actions of our visitors and customers to third parties such as log analysis vendors in order to demonstrate the value we deliver to users. We must comply with laws applicable in rare circumstances requiring disclosure of data to law enforcement authorities or third parties.

Other than as disclosed in this policy, Primary Knowledge will not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties in personally identifiable form without your express permission.

Cookies

Primary Knowledge may use cookies to assist in delivering the service and to provide a positive and personalized user experience. Cookies are files sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Our persistent and session ID cookies are used to identify unique visitors to our sites and to automatically log you in to the JacketFlap service.

Third Party Sites

JacketFlap may contain links to multiple third party sites on the Internet, including many that have different privacy and security policies and practices than Primary Knowledge. Primary Knowledge makes no representations or warranties about the policies and practices of sites that are linked to by Primary Knowledge or the JacketFlap service or its users. We urge you to consult the policies available on those sites to further understand your rights. Primary Knowledge will never sell, rent or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes without your express permission.

Security

Primary Knowledge has implemented processes designed to protect user information and maintain security. Each registered user is assigned a unique user name and password which is required to access their user information. It is the user’s responsibility to protect the security of their login information. Primary Knowledge’s servers are located in secure server environments. Firewalls and other advanced security technologies are employed to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. These safeguards help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of data.

Accessing, Correcting and Revising Registration and Contact Information

If you need to update or change your registration information, you may do so by editing your user record on the JacketFlap service.

If you choose to cancel your account and leave the JacketFlap service, please be aware that Primary Knowledge may for a time retain residual information in our backup and/or archival copies of our database. We will make reasonable commercial efforts to delete your information as soon as possible after you communicate that intention to us.

Compliance with Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act

As a business service, Primary Knowledge does not target its offerings toward, and does not knowingly collect any personal information from users under 13 years of age.
