i have been into the supermarkets this weekend and couldnt resist spotting a few children's designs. here are my picks from the current range for little people at asda snapped in store plus a few highlights from their online shopping.

today im taking another look round at children's designs with some snaps of the very latest spring children's prints spotted in the shops. we begin with supermarket giant tesco.

next up is peacocks who had a funky selection of designs in neon flouro colours. the zebra print also features here and in quite a few other fashion stores just now.

these cute bird designs were spotted in h&m kids, along with fun typography and cute kittens. and below three designs spotted in boots.

on the subject of children's design, as we are today, i came across these fun designs in my inbox from designer and illustrator jane smith. jane creates these designs for her etsy shop 'superhoot'. the fabrics were printed at spoonflower and then handmade by jane into skirts and trousers.

and finally from japan today a few choice items picked out from the cute sunny style website.

with all the snowy weather here in britain it seemed appropriate to post these fun patterns from designer natalie singh. natalie has created prints using the theme of children playing out in the snow. rooty toot have introduced a new series of limited edition prints by illustrator nathan reed, available at the rooty toot online shop.

the theme for today on print & pattern is design for children and i wanted to post some recent snapshots. these super cute designs were all spotted in superstore asda. the designs in the kids clothing dept are bright, bold and feature lots of interesting illustration.

i was excited to see delphine chedru has a new book out whilst browsing in the tate modern shop last week. called le chasse aux papillons it includes these amazing peacocks above and below. also spotted lots of newly published books by alain gree, anorak magazine and an unusual alphabet by julien magnani. interested to know more i turned to google to check out other books by

when looking for good childrenswear designs i always like to have a look in h&m and here are few snaps taken last month that just catch them between autumn and spring.

and we finish today with a few choice items especially for children and babies from dwellstudio, whose furnishing fabrics we featured yesterday. dwellstudio are known for their stylish graphic kids designs on bedding and more recently their excellent board books.

and finally we have matalan where the aztec/tribal style is evident on girls and boyswear. there were also lots of different bib designs featuring fun illustrations.

wenche nevalainen runs a danish design company called w:form. wenche exhibited her new collection 'elephant & apple' at the formex fair in stockholm, sweden in august. after positive feedback, she decided to put her design in production, along with her circus themed collection. you can see more online here at w:form.

dan stiles has once again collaborated with birch fabrics on a new collection called 'safari soiree'. the designs are on organic cotton and feature dan's modern geometric illustrations. showing at the quilt fair this month the fabrics are due for release in november 2012. i spotted pre-order listings at the fat quarter shop and threadbias.

rachael clark recently graduated from the university of leeds, with a first class degree in textile design. rachael says she is extremely passionate about continuing to work in the design industry and would love to gain some freelance design opportunities. she enjoys designing for a variety of  products including gift wrap, stationery, bedding and wallpaper, with a particular focus on

lesley grainger has two new fabric collections launching with robert kaufman called 'at the farm' featuring rolling pattern filled hills and colourful cockerels and a flannel range called 'bonny bloom'

isak are expert in creating stylish graphic feature walls for children's rooms as this colourful oak tree design (above & below) demonstrates. designer sandra isaksson has been inspired for her latest release by the classic story 'the owl & the pussy cat'. the designs are custom sized. customers just measure their wall, type in the dimensions in centimetres and isak will re-size, print and send

i am loving the huge variety of christmas cards from paperchase this year. this post features a selection of their cute character designs which are not only great for children but appeal to adults as well.  

today we have the final few posts from the laura ashley press show, and they feature children's decor, clothing and women's fashion prints. all the designs are a preview of what will be instore next year for their spring summer 2013 collections. for the little girls clothing there are lots of florals, some with tropical influences, prints themed on sweets and biscuits, birds, art deco flamingos

the children's decor at the laura ashley spring summer 2013 preview featured a kitten themed collection for girls featuring hearts and flowers. the boys meanwhile had a traditional football theme and also available co-ordinating checks and star prints plus accessories featuring boats and pirates.

i came across a book this week in oliver bonas and was drawn straight away to its brilliant colours and retro graphic illustrations. illustrator and printmaker lo cole has added two new prints to his etsy shop. eleplantation and hot dogs are limited to an edition of just 85 and can be found online here. lo has also created a special alphabet print for fellow etsy shop the imaginary press.

in march 2013 wilkinson will be launching a whole host of new children's and baby's decor ranges. at their press show there were just a small sample of what we can expect to see in the spring and here i picked out a few pieces from both the boy's and girl's display.
