Brandon Stanton, the photographer behind the \"Humans of New York\" (HONY) blog, has landed a deal for Humans of New York: Stories.
Stanton will appear at this year’s BookCon for a conversation event about his new book. According to the BookCon announcement, the book showcases “a whole new group of humans, complete with stories that delve deeper and surprise with greater candor.”
St. Martin’s Press will publish the follow-up to Stanton’s New York Times bestseller on October 13th. In the past, Stanton has snapped photographs featuring editor Yaniv Soha, literary agent Brian DeFiore, NYPL President Tony Marx, Outliers author Malcolm Gladwell, Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, and President Barack Obama.

Filmmaker and actor James Franco has assembled a cast of high-profile actors for his adaptation of John Steinbeck’s In Dubious Battle.
Paper Towns star Nat Wolff (pictured, via) has landed the lead role of Jim Nolan. Other actors who have signed on for this project include John Savage, Selena Gomez, Vincent D’Onofrio, Robert Duvall, Ed Harris, Bryan Cranston, Sam Shepard, Danny McBride, and Franco himself.
Here’s more from Deadline: “The story takes place, of course, during a time in this country when employees were organizing into unions or trying to fight for better treatment and wages from their employers. The same year Steinbeck’s story takes place, the Steelworkers union was founded, as was the Textile union.” (via Entertainment Weekly)

English comedian Stephen Fry served as the narrator for the United Kingdom edition of the You Have to F***ing Eat audiobook. The animated video embedded above features Fry’s recitation.
Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston read the story for the American edition of this audiobook. According to an announcement on Canongate TV website, “Fyy and Cranston follow in the footsteps of celebrities including Samuel L. Jackson, Noel Fielding, Thandie Newton, and Werner Herzog, all of whom saw their recordings of Mansbach’s earlier bestseller, Go the F*ck to Sleep, rack up millions of hits.”

Brandon Stanton, creator of the “Humans of New York” photo project and author of the New York Times bestselling book, was invited to take pictures at The Met Gala by Vogue magazine.
During the glitzy event, Stanton captured the portraits of How I Met Your Mother actor Neil Patrick Harris, Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, and nine-time Grammy winner John Legend. Vogue allowed Stanton to post some of his favorite pieces on the HONY blog.
Stanton shared the photo of Cranston and his wife along with a touching quote this morning on Facebook; the post has drawn more than 310,000 “likes” and over 6,100 comments. In an interview with Mashable, Stanton revealed that his “goal was to keep my interviews the same as they’d be on the street, even though everyone was carrying cocktails and wearing tuxedos.” What do you think?

Golden Globe-winning actor Bryan Cranston has landed a book deal to pen a memoir chronicling his years playing Walter White on the hit TV series, Breaking Bad.
Cranston (pictured, via) gave this statement in the release: “Walter White taught me a lot—some of it useful, some of it dangerous. With this book, I want to tell the stories of my life and reveal the secrets and lies that I lived with for six years shooting Breaking Bad.”

Producers Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will work together with documentarian Ken Burns to curate an audiobook collection for Audible called Playtone.
The series is named after the three creators’ film and television production company, featuring a wide range of books–you can see the complete list of titles below. The series will include Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried narrated by Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston. Check it out:
