1. Please Social Share my Threadless submission...

http://www.threadless.com/submission/452012/I_Love_To_Dance

Hey, happy Sunday! Here's something fun about Sunday— this cute new t-shirt I designed and submitted to Threadless. But here's the sticky part— it has only been submitted, not approved for voting (..yet, I hope).
Your help here could make a big difference! If you click this page, and "social share" the design to your favorite online places, it might help to get my latest Threadless submission approved for voting! It's a mystery to me how they do things over there, but I know that social shares usually help everything (I can't help but think of Mary Poppins' "spoonful of sugar" helping the medicine go down. I must revisit that movie again soon!). So if you like the t-shirt, if you could picture your 4-year old niece loving it and wearing it (I can certainly picture my 2-year old niece in it!) then please Share it thorough the links on this page. I would be SO grateful. :D

6. The Cave

This an idea I have been toying with for a long time. I did this illustration for my own enjoyment but decided to submit it to Threadless just for the fun of it.

If you feel so inclined please check out the link:

I have not been to MondayArtday for a while and I am glad to see it is still going strong. I look forward to seeing more great work, from all of you, in the future.

8. Ypulse Toolbox: Fashion Forward Shopping Apps & Sites To Know

11. New Threadless design: Gentleman's rampage.

It's been a while since I last submitted a design to Threadless. I've had designs sat unfinished on my desktop for months on end so I've made it my mission to get this back log sorted and submitted. Here is the first.

12. Nothing says summer like a Threadless T-shirt sale!

Threadless is having a $5 sale! Teen and Teen's BFF live in these shirts that I heard about from [info]castellucci.

Even if the economy kind of sucks, $5 or $10 is affordable and the Ts seem to hold up pretty well. One word of warning: if you are a mom-type person and ordering for yourself, consider ordering up a size or ordering a man's.

16. Threadless Sale

Hold on, people, it's a sale at Theadless! What does this have to do with MotherReader and/or books? Well, MotherReader ordered five shirts for herself and the family (and is enjoying talking in the third person, thank you very much). As for books, there's this shirt for illustrators or this shirt for poets and of course this shirt for classics buffs was donated as a prize for the 48 Hour Book Challenge. Personally, I'm going with the word find shirt and kicking myself for not thinking of the concept myself. But I'll enjoy wearing it.

With one email, you too can be a prize contributor to the 48 Hour Book Challenge just like Theadless. No lie. Send me an offer at motherreader AT gmail DOT com, you know, with the right symbol replacements.

17. holiday shopping, early

I have had a lot of people send me links to excellent things that I think other librarians might want. However, since I’m such a stuffy anti-capitalist, I sometimes shy away from “you might want to buy this” posts. Then my inbox fills up and I get into competitive Inbox Zero mode and I realize that one of the things that I like about my readers is that they’re not all like me and so this is why I am posting these.

  • Excellent library love t-shirt from Gluekit’s new PartofIt project (launching any day now) which designs neat looking stuff to help raise funds for non-profits.
  • Threadless “check out” double entendre t-shirt for your favorite bibliophile
  • If you read the BibliOdyssey blog (and you should) you might be pleased to know that there is a companion book full of delightful images from ancient texts. I had the pleasure of meeting PK when I was in Australia and I had no idea something like this was in the works. However, I got a copy last week and while I’m still poring through the frontmatter, the restof it is the real deal. Nice book and the blog post about it has more information on the convoluted process of getting a blog into print with associated rights-haggling etc.
  • Lastly, I was cleaning up my house up north and came across a few copies of Revolting Librarians Redux still in their “prepared for mailing” state. If you want one, KR and I are e-baying them off with the proceeds to go to the EFF (or another deserving charity if you’re so inclined). KR and I are pretty geographically dispersed, so signed copies might be a non-option, but ask us and we’ll do what we can. Want a copy? Click here.

Feel free to add other “perfect for the librarian who has everything” links below.

20. Play Safe!

Here's a design I dashed off for Threadless in the few minutes I had spare in between looking for somewhere to live. Flat-hunting is both depressing and time-consuming. Oy.
