32. Gloucestershire

I did think of changing this traditional rhyme to:

Norman Foster flew to Gloucester
In his private plane
He stalled in cloud
And crashed on Stroud

If only he'd taken the train.

But luckily, I didn't.

34. Illustration Friday ….Expired….

Taking Monty Python´s sketch as inspiration, I illustrated an ex-bunny. Oh well.. all is part of the circle of life, some bunny expires in the woods and some plant blossom thanks to him.

Inspirandome en el sketch de Monty Python, illustré un ex-conejo. Bueno… todo es parte del cirulo de la vida, un conejito muere en el bosque y algunas plantas crecen gracias a él.

43. Prophet of Uz

Went to the Anish Kapoor exhibition in London...an exposition of sexual repression and visual innuendo unrivalled by anything on the current art scene. Featuring an enormous hour-long act of penetration extending through five rooms of the Royal Academy; willies and turds coiling and squirming in mounds of concrete and a phallic cannon that fires shells of congealed menstrual blood against the walls. The artist makes us collude in his voyeurism then deflects our gaze with a series of hallmark stainless steel distorting mirrors. Great fun.
Remind me to take the kids this weekend.
I painted this picture on my return home.

44. Job's a good 'un

The Book of Job certainly makes for a fun holiday read....not.
My copy was the 1927 Westminster Press edition with the dreadful overrated William Blake engravings. These sketches were as far as I got in planning a new edition before giving up and having an ice cream instead.
Brushpen. Each page 21cm x 15cm. Click pics to enlarge.

49. what is the cloud, please

People at drop-in time who are just learning to use email have been asking me if I know what “the cloud” is lately. I assume the NY Times wrote something about it. I know it well enough to explain it to someone who also doesn’t know what Bcc is, but I wasn’t sure I understood it enough to be talking to other librarians about it. Here is a good First Monday article that spells out a lot of it: Where is the cloud? Geography, economics, environment, and jurisdiction in cloud computing. Some more discussion about how this affects libraries from the latest Library 2.0 Gang podcast. [thanks justin!]
