Full of understated humour and told from the perspective of a disgruntled older brother, this hilarious tale of family forbearance gives fresh meaning to the “It’s just a phase” refrain.
Sadly, this is another wonderful book which has fallen out of print. I hope your library has a copy.

It is great to hear about a book that a Spanish girl has a name different than the common name Maria. In addition, I like it that this book shows the relationship of a child and their grandparent. This is so common for children to spend time or even live with their grandparents and are faced with difficult issues with their grandparents. Sometimes these issues are uncompromisable because of the huge generation gap. Nevertheless, this book shows that love can close the generation gap.
