Here's an image from a new book coming out Spring 2015. Thanks for taking a look!

This is the rain that splatters the ground, And quenches the fire that blazed all around. |
This is a spread from
The Prairie That Nature Built, written by Marybeth Lorbiecki, illustrated by me, Cathy Morrison, and published by Dawn Publishing. It comes out September 1, 2014.
A wild prairie is a lively place in this rhythmic romp with munchers and crunchers above and below the grasses so thick, and fires that flare, and rains that quench and always the prairie grows green. Back matter offers information and activities for a fuller appreciation of this marvelous, disappearing habitat.

I don’t have anything to say today, really. I woke up a little late and feel behind with much work to do (Never enough time, ya know..?) I have been posting everyday, though, so I found this in the coffers of some area of the computer–a picture book page I worked on a few months [...]
1. Go for a run.
2. Rent a movie.
3. Build a card tower.
4. Write stuff down backwards and then read it in a mirror.
5. Buy a trampoline.
6. Jump on it.
7. Crank up some tunes.
8. Try to lick your elbow.
9. Read a good book.
10. Clean up your room.
11. Start a blog.
12. Watch people’s fails on YouTube,
13. Prank call a friend.
14. Find a wall and see how high you can get your hand by jumping.
15. Wet your hair and style it.
16. Start a new instrument.
17. Find a job.
18. Put iodine on any open cuts. Being bored will seem pretty good after this.
19. Go for a walk and comment on people to your self.
20. Learn how to cook something tasty.
21. Write a story.
22. Take a hot shower.
23. See how far you can get a paper airplane to fly.
24. Wikipedia Race (google it).
25. Think of something else to do when bored and comment it for others to read.

It's going to be a very busy Wednesday for me. I've got a lot of work to do and will most likely spend the vast majority of my day hunched over my drawing table in my dark studio with the blinds drawn. I won't take a shower until well after lunch which will make my hair slimy, and my skin greasy, and my teeth still covered with that pasty morning tooth film for most of the day.
That's right...I'm a bridge troll.
I'd tell you to "ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS THREE" before you continue reading, but I'm much to busy to come up with three questions, so instead I'll just wave you through.
The above sketch is yet another rough from the very same recent project the last rough was produced for.

Steve! I was going through my blog links and was surprised that your blog was gone. You're a hard guy to find! what happened with the other blog?
Hey! The other blog was dumped...well...over a year ago, which would make you just a wee bit slow on the uptake. ;)
Actually I got rid of it because some of the stuff I was writing about was actually doing more harm than good to my career, so I closed up shop.
I really just use this new one as a promotional tool for my illustration. The stories are a lot less interesting, much fewer in number, and a whole lot more family friendly. ;)
Nice to hear from you again!
