Welcome to the Charity Hopping Around the World Giveaway Hop
March 30th to April 4th
Hosted by:
I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
Reading Away the Days
Reading a Little Bit of Everything
Purpose: To promote a charity that you support.
Without a doubt my favorite charity is LDS Philanthropies/Latter-day Saint Charities!
Latter-day Saint Charities helps people become self-reliant and improve their quality of life through initiatives such as clean water, health, and food production. Latter-day Saint Charities also relieves suffering by providing life sustaining support during emergencies. Humanitarian Aid FundWhen a disaster occurs, Latter-day Saint Charities sends food, clothing, medical supplies, and other emergency relief assistance to help victims with urgent needs. Advance planning, extensive storage of essential items, and an extensive worldwide network of volunteers, allow a swift response when disaster strikes. These volunteers, working cooperatively with other relief agencies, help ensure that 100 percent of all donations are distributed directly to those in need.
Clean WaterWorking with local community leaders, Latter-day Saint Charities (Humanitarian Services) provides access to clean water with wells and other water systems where no such service is available.
Volunteers from the village provide labor to install and maintain the wells to ensure their long-term operation. Local contractors are employed, and a local site supervisor is appointed to ensure the work is performed as agreed. Each village establishes a water committee to oversee the maintenance of the facilities.
Involving the community helps local people feel an ownership of the project, an important cultural consideration in the long-term use and proper maintenance of the water supply.

Giveaway #1My ARC of Shatter Me by Tahereh MafiOpen to US only
Shatter MeJuliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting asThe Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-
My bookshelves are overflowing and reality has hit me hard. At most I will be able to read another 100 books this year and listen to another 100. I have hundreds of books on my to read list and more books are released every week. I decided to organize this spring cleaning giveaway hop as the perfect chance to clean my bookshelf and share some wonderful books with others. I spent an afternoon going through all the books on my shelf and I have a huge box of books I need to pass on to others.
These books are review copies I have already read, books that I have two copies of, books that were sent for review that have been on my shelf too long, books I won in giveaways, books that I started but never finished... basically great books that are in need of a book review & a new home.
Many of these books have already been read and reviewed but some of them have not yet been read. It is really truly hard for me to part with the review copies that I have not yet read. I accepted these books because I WANT to read them. Unfortunately there are just too many books I want to read and not enough hours in the day for me to read them all. If a book has been on my shelf for several months and I haven't gotten to it I feel it is only fair to pass it on to someone who has time to read and enjoy it.About half of these are ARCs the other half are finished copies. Covers are often different than the image featured below.
There will be a lot of winners. All winners must have a US mailing address. I've budgeted $75 to pay for shipping. I'll keep selecting winners until I hit my shipping limit.
Random Winner #1 - This will be a completely random winner. I will submit all entries to random.org and have it choose a winner. That winner will receive their choice of any 10 books listed below.
Random Winner #2 - Also a random winner - They will receive 5 books of their choice from the remaining books.
+1 Bonus Entry if you share this giveaway and leave a link (facebook, twitter, etc.)Additional WinnersI'm unsure how many additional winners I will pick but there will be at least 5 more winners who will receive up to 10 books each. To enter simply tell me which books you would like to review, why you are interested in them and where you will post your review. Don't tell me you want any and all of them. I'm looking for reviewers who have an interest in specific titles and are committed to read and review those titles if they receive those books. By entering you are committing to review the books in a timely manner and ensure that you post a review in at least 2 places (your blog, amazon, goodread, barnes & noble, etc.) I will use the random.org to select winners, if any of the books they would like to review are still available they will be sent.
Final Winner - The final winner will receive all the remaining books - To enter you must have a use for the books. Do you work in a small library or at a community service organization that is in need of books? Do you have a good use for the books? To enter this final giveaway just tell me what you would do with the remaining books if you win them. I will use random.org to select a winner from all eligible entries.
I will be shipping out a total of 100 Books!Spring Cleaning Giveaway 100 Books

Violet Fynne was haunted—haunted by memory. It had been nearly ten years since her father had moved the family from the tiny town of Rattler Rock to the city of Albany, New York. Yet the pain and guilt in Violet’s heart was as fresh and as haunting as ever it had been.
It was true Violet had been only a child when her family moved. Still—though she had been unwillingly pulled away from Rattler Rock—pulled away from him she held most dear—her heart had never left—and her mind had never forgotten the promise she had made—a promise to a boy—to a boy she had loved—a boy she had vowed to return to.
Yet, the world changes—and people move beyond pain and regret. Thus, when Violet Fynne retuned to Rattler Rock, it was to find that death had touched those she had known before—that the world had indeed changed—that unfamiliar faces now intruded on beloved memories.
Had she returned too late? Had Violet Fynne lost her chance for peace—and happiness? Would she be forever haunted by the memory of the boy she had loved nearly ten years before?

The Arrivals by Meg Mitchell MooreIt's early summer when Ginny and William's peaceful life in Vermont comes to an abrupt halt.
First, their daughter Lillian arrives, with her two children in tow, to escape her crumbling marriage. Next, their son Stephen and his pregnant wife Jane show up for a weekend visit, which extends indefinitely when Jane ends up on bed rest. When their youngest daughter Rachel appears, fleeing her difficult life in New York, Ginny and William find themselves consumed again by the chaos of parenthood - only this time around, their children are facing adult problems.
By summer's end, the family gains new ideas of loyalty and responsibility, exposing the challenges of surviving the modern family - and the old adage, once a parent, always a parent, has never rung so true.
Snow Rising by Matt BaldwinChange can happen in your life as quickly as you'll believe it.
Jason Snow has lived his life making choices that he believed would bring him happiness. Ironically, he acted in ways that got him the exact opposite of what he wanted. Now, his relationship with his wife is hanging by a thread, he is miserable at work, and worst of all, he feels disgusted at the thought that his kids are suffering because of choices he-s made. Is there a way out?
Although this book follows Jason Snow on a life-changing quest beginning at the base of Mt. Hood, Snow Rising is not a novel. It-s an invitation to take a personal journey. Author Matthew Baldwin says, -I invite you to join Jason Snow, and leave you with two questions: one, can you be an advocate for the changes you desire to see in yourself and in the world around you; and two, do you have the audacity to find out?-
Snow Rising can put individuals back together, revitalize marriages and families, and help recover fractured organizations. It shares four axioms, absolute truths, that are at the root of all happiness. But as the author says, -Then again, perhaps the answer is not in the answer, but in the journey to the answer.-
Take the journey. Make the change. Know the peace.
