I took a little break to draw something silly, because I wanted to try out this idea. This must be much more efficient then riding one broom, don’t you think? And MUCH more comfortable. I think I will make a better drawing of this vehicle one day, bigger and more detailed. But first I need to make a car or two for Shayla.
watercolor, ink and pencils
Racing car just after the accident. It’s awfully hot, but I really own Shayla a new picture and so I’m sitting most day at the computer. Now I’ll go out, I think: sun is getting low. And dogs are trying hard to lead me away from the screen. Interesting, people belive they are superior to animals, but it seems that our home pets can manipulate us better then we can manipulate them. OK, time to go. So says Lori. When it’s SHE who doesn’t want to go, there’s no way to move her. Pulling the collar results in her laying down immediately, and she’s quite heavy. Lori hates to be pulled or pushed around. She thinks it’s discriminating.

Good news today: Patsy’s book is on Amazon. It can be found here:The Perfect Christmas by Patricia L. Christian. It’s the story of three Christmas trees, which I’ve illustrated last winter.
This is, I belive, last picture made for Sara’s pirate book. No, Molly is not going to kill the parrot. She just disagrees with her. I think I will miss a bit brave captain Jane and her crew; this was a nice story to illustrate.
Now is hot! 28C and going up. One of two additional pirate pictures is finished today.
Here’s the last illustration made for “Tales From Lofoten”. It’s meant to be used on book cover. Finished! Or so I belive. Sara’s pirate story was finished two weeks ago, and now Sara needs two additional pictures. Brave little Jane will show her face here once more :)
One more Pooh. Small crayon drawing made between other things.

Time to come back to racing car story. We are more or less in the middle of it, and now bad things start to happen to racing car.
This is last illustration to ‘Tales From Lofoten’ by Jan Andre Kallestad. This is a story about very small ladybug who lives in iris flower. There will be a cover picture yet and this book is done, too! Very well, it’s high time to make some jam. We have currant and gooseberry bushes around the house, and they are rare plants which are doing great in this sandy ground.
watercolor paints and pencils
And here’s second Pooh picture to be hanged above coffee machine. This time it’s my husband’s favourite character. And his favourite electronic device of all times… I’ve already made many pictures with various creatures reading in armchair next to fireplace (is there better way to spend time?) but none of them stayed at home. Now there will be one.
ink & watercolor
I’ve found two photo frames and my family decided they want two small Pooh pictures to our modernized kitchen (it’s almost ready!). Eeyore is my favourite Pooh character, so he goes first.

And here the adventure ends, and Sara’s pirate book is all illustrated – hurray! This is Jane’s ship in real life. I must admit the ships that my boys used to build were very inspiring. This was quite a few years ago, of course.
watercolor, crayons, ink – like always
Now it’s getting hot here! Day by day temperature goes up, and grass gets replaced with strange brown and red herbs which seem to be designed to live on Mars – Jura Upland is really green only in May. June, too, but only if it rains. Basia isn’t happy about it. Next illustration for Jan is about summer, too, so quite appropriate. This fox decided to sleep all summer in sun, when other foxes were gathering food, and then he was in trouble.
Bck to pirate story and if everything goes well, I’ll have it finished before weekend. There are three more pictures on my drawing desk now.

Owl day. I’ve got five of them so far. Owl in a bath is the last one. I can’t complain: my husband and son have reconstructed most of kitchen floor today, preparing ground for ceramic tiles. Drawing owls is a holiday.

Here it is!

"Thirteenth Hour" is ready. Cover design isn't too subtle, but I'm not responsible for this. Just for picture in the center. Anyway, it's ready! A lot is happening now, I've just started to make sketches for new Sylveco product series - it's for kids and they want owls. And there are four more pirate pictures to draw, and kitchen window to paint, too. This renovation will never end. But at least I can use kitchen sink again.

Second part of this Wonderland comission…
My last Sunday drawing. I’ve read Gaiman’s short story about a troll under bridge and here’s the result. No illustration, it’s just that I’ve been thinking about troll problem.
Ink, watercolor pencils and pastels.

And here’s new picture for Shayla. This racing car really should be more careful. In next spread he will roll and break. And will have to add injuries to my model. I wish the car could stay healthy and shiny to the end of the book; less work!
Storm is over, things are getting better. Four more pictures and book is finished; land on horizon!
Pirate story becomes very dramatic at this point…
Mice vs. Frogs. I hope you can guess which team is doing better at the moment. I’ve got an awful cold and I don’t feel like a worker bee, so I’ve drawn something silly again… PS. The thing in the bottom right corner is a battery: LED generation people may have problems to recognize it.
ink and Derwent pencils
