How to use this Page
You are viewing the most recent posts tagged with the words: from photo in the JacketFlap blog reader. What is a tag? Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. Try adding a tag yourself by clicking "Add a tag" below a post's header. Scroll down through the list of Recent Posts in the left column and click on a post title that sounds interesting. You can view all posts from a specific blog by clicking the Blog name in the right column, or you can click a 'More Posts from this Blog' link in any individual post.

Sketch in oil still unfinished
january sun appearing among the foliage of the garden, then its light making shapes among the shadows of the trees, as if asking to be painted.
that magic instants captured in the chip of a camera till now, when lights, shadows and shapes try to be, once again, in the illusion of a painting but keeping the remembrance of that moment.
another painting without a previous drawing, just zones of colours, i'm trying to leave details aside as much as i possibly can. this one is from a photo i took a few weeks ago.
feel free to leave any comments, thanks in advance! have a nice day.
some more sketches, though these are newer, from a couple of weeks ago, trying to make them more geometrical and with less details, i'd want them even simpler than these but it's difficult.
cleaning piles of papers i just found this old sketch i had made out of a drawing magazine photo, i guess i did it about 4 years ago. i see his eyes aren't lined either, apparently it's something i should put more attention as i did it too in my last selfportrait.
an attempt to do a portrait of someone famous. colour pencils, not watercolour pencils this time, i tried some new ones. i need more practice, that equals TIME.
later i'll if i can find who the rights of the origunal pic belong to, then add it here, as obviously i didn't take it ;)
i made this sketch out of a photo reference from my holidays 3 years ago. i was there a couple of weeks ago though this year i didn't take any photo at this site...

i just remembered i'd done this sketch back in 2007
(emd #100)
i made a watercolour from a photo i had from my holidays in 2007. i found a sketch i had done back in 2005, then i thought of making this couple walk on the sand to the house on the peer entrance. i started cutting the sketch then taking some pics to see what it looked like.
unfortunately my winter vacations will be over in august then i won't have enough time to play around with this but start again with school work. but what i will mostly miss is visiting blogs as i'm enjoying so much these last few weeks...
here is a scan of the watercolour i did last night. the last post was a set of photos i took while still wet.
another sketch from a magazine photo. i would like to use my own photos but i don't have photos of people, they're mostly landscape... anyway sometimes it's the only way to practice. i know i should've stuck the paper on a board but i don't always do that...
i made this sketch after a photo from a magazine (about 20x20 cm)
a sketch of about 70 x 100 cm
a big sketch of abut 60x70 cm
i made this sketch yesterday while looking at a magazine about the master Toulouse-Lautrec. there was a photo of Yvette Guilbert, who inspired him in many of his works.
i cropped the sketch in an ellipse to make it look like an old image..(?) XD
some sketches i need to make a little sculpture, seen from back-front-left-right using virtual pose.
i'll use the girl's sketches that's why i didn't do the boy's fourth sketch.
some watercolours. i'm having some free days so i'm trying to have some practise. still a long way to go...
this was a quick sketch in oil made on a plastic surface then all the procedure as when printing a woodcut. we're experiencing different sort of monocopies works.
finally today I received a copy of this CD by an argentinian folklore musician (piano player), with a portrait i drew back in 2005 after an old b&w photo of him. thanks to my friend Karina who knows the producer and got the link for me to do the illustration.
this one was published last december and it can already be seen in internet for sale in a couple of places but I guess in some time it'll be in more sites like the previous ones. this one is the last of the trilogy.
Here's the
link to one of the sites where they're selling it. wanna buy one? hahaha
I like your portrait Martin.
Hey Carol! Thanks!!
