2. FINALLY....

got around to curating my first little treasury on etsy late last night (yay me!)....inspired by one of my favorite flowers (and recent paintings), the delicate and graceful snowdrop.

click on over and take a look at the exquisite handmade items i found in my search. they are simply stunning in their own right.

3. a woman after my own heart....

"ribbons undone"
©the enchanted easel
for sure!

this little treasury is everything. anyone who curates a treasury based on Tori Amos songs, well that's someone i just instantly have to show some love for! and, including MY tribute painting to Tori? happy...and humbled. :)

this painting form last year, entitled "ribbons undone" (named after the Tori song of the same name, of course) is one of my favorites. visit my etsy shop to purchase a print of her or a cute little compact mirror (only ONE left...) . also, over at fine art america, you can purchase this piece on a multitude of awesome products....from tote bags to duvet covers.

and, just because we are talking about Tori here, well here's the inspiration for this piece....:)

4. little olivine...

featured in this lovely mermaid treasury found here:

i love how humbling it is to be recognized by other artists and i love the opportunity etsy provides by allowing artists of all types to share their gift with the world.

as for little olivine here, i am so emotionally attached to this little mermaid. i mean art for me is always an emotional attachment. i sometimes wonder if you have to be another one of *us* to really understand that. that feeling of if you can't paint/draw/create, that you can't survive. that is how i feel every single day of my life and i live and breathe to do it and i do it to live and breathe. without it there is nothing. not for me anyway. no amount of money or anything/anyone could take it's place. it's not only a part of me...it is ALL of me.

with that being said, when little olivine sells, i will shed some tears for sure. bittersweet ones, knowing that she will be making some little girl very happy. besides, she can't live in my studio forever...and she's always in my heart because that's where she came from to begin with :)

such a sap, i know...

speaking of mermaids, i'm still working on the whole series, just having some neck and arm pain right now so trying to take it easy a bit. which is something that does not come easy for me.

5. Yummy Treasury

Thank you Nicky from Nicky Bee Shop on etsy for featuring my Gingerbread Surprise card in this delicious Treasury!
(I'm down there in the middle of the bottom row.)

I painted that piece for my Christmas card a few years back. Its one of the few pieces I have that's all done in watercolors. I love painting that way, and don't know why I don't do more of it! Colored pencils have kind of taken over lately, but I think I'll go back to doing more painting this coming year. Yes, I definitely will.

Nicky has some really cool things in her shop. I love this cookie tin full of Christmas cookie ornaments!

People on etsy are so clever. I'm always amazed at people's ideas and creativity and productiveness (is that a word?).
I'm great at thinking up cool ideas, then tend to poop out before they actually get made. You could (and I have) spent hours looking at all the wonderfully crafty things on etsy. Very inspiring!

I'm baking today, finally.
Two pans of shortbread are in the oven as we speak. Peanut butter cookie dough is chilling and will get baked next. After that its my famous chocolate cookies which are actually Martha's recipe, but don't tell anyone. As for gingerbread, well, we'll see.
The house is smelling really good and the kitchen floor has a good dusting of flour and sugar on it, perfect for sand dancing (you know, the old soft shoe).
