1. May The Lord Endow

Psalm 72                                                                                                                       December 27, 2014

1 Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness. 2He will judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice. 3The mountains will bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness. 4He will defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy: he will crust the oppressor.

5He will endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations. 6He will be like rain falling on the a mown field, like showers watering the earth. 7In his days the righteous will flourish, prosperity will abound till the moon is no more.

8He will rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. 9The desert tribes will bow before him and his enemies will the dust. 10The kings of Tarshish and of distant shores will bring tribute to him; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present him gifts. 11All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him. 12For he will dilver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. 13He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. 14He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight..

15Long may he live!  May gold from Sheba be given him . May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long. 16Let grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. Let its fruit flourish like Lebanon; lit it thrive like the grass of the field.

17May His name (JESUS) endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. All nations will be blessed through HIm, and they will call Him blessed.

18Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. 19Praise be to HIS GLORIOUS NAME forever; may the whole earth be filled with HIS GLORY,

Amen and Amen

Prayer: Come Lord Jesus and be exalted. Holy Father in heaven draw the nations to Your Son (John 5 and heal their blind eyes.(Mark 8:25) Turn their hearts of stone into flesh with Your loving Kindnesses by the Redemption through Your Only Begotten Son Christ Jesus, and bring healing into our homes, communities, cities, and nations. May their lips declare Your Glory and Give You Praise. YOU ALONE BE GLORIFIED. In Jesus Name, amen and amen

2. Final’s Week

Did I ever mention that I am going to college now?
Well, I am going to be a Sophemore in January, and I am going for an Associates in social work for now, but my goal is a P.H.D in social work.

I went back to school because I wanted to change my life, now I want to help women and children who suffered abuse take back and change their lives too, but I can’t do that if I am not educated. Yes, I have lots of experience, but being street-smart without a touch of education, knowledge and empowerment could be a bad recipe.

Jesus is the author and creator of Day’s Journey, and He guided me through some really tough mountains through His encouragement, words, writings that I definitely could not have written. I have gone back to read post and am amazed.  I would think, “I wrote this” and smile because it was always His Holy Spirit.  He gave me a different perspective on life when my daily thoughts were negative, and suicide.  I am still walking the Day’s Journey with Jesus, and  learning, although I don’t write much in here; and I purposefully do not write to much, because I just want to point you to Jesus……….

Anyhow, not to get off course, but this ties in to the story I wrote, “Not Good Enough” It encouraged me to go back to school and give my best. I was tired of living life without purpose or meaning. I was just surviving day to day.  I am testing on Tuesday for math final, and would greatly appreciate prayer. I struggle with math:(.
Social work grade was an ‘A”””””

3. May The Lord…..

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob defend you. 2 May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion. 3 May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice.

4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose. 5 We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill your petitions.

6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.  7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. 8 They have  bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stand upright.

9 Save Lord!

May the King answer us when we call. (Psalm 20, New King James Version)

In Jesus Name, hear our pleas, O Lord, amen

4. I Need Your Help

I need your help. God used Compassion International to trust me with these three adorable children to pray for and help find someone to be their sponsor.

Since I joined Compassion International about 2 years ago, Jesus changed my world and He gave me compassion. You may think you are helping these children, but remember, the Lord draws near to the broken hearted (Psalm 34).
Compassion International prays for you, your child and their parents pray for you and the Pastor and leaders of the center where they go pray for you. Your support pays for an education, clean water, food,  and most important, they learn about Jesus love for them by hearing the gospel and you change their world. You can read more by visiting Compassion International.

Jess and I are sponsors to Luis, from Columbia for 2 years, and Preaw from Thialand for only $38.00 a month each. I have to say, when you give through prayer, financial, and letters to these children, you are not blessing them as much as they are blessing you! These children and their parents pray for us and by my praise reports and life change is by those who pray for you. I get really excited when I receive letters from them and pictures they draw just for us.

Anyhow, if you can’t help through support, will you help me pray for them by name: They have been waiting for a long time for a sponsor. And if you decide to sponsor one of these children will you let me know, so I can dance and praise God with them?

Muthukumar Yidurshika lives in Sri Lanka. Asia.  She goes by Yidu and her birthday is April 28, 2005 She has been waiting for a sponsor for 7 months, and her reference number is LK-304-0078

Bereket Wasihun Wudu lives in Ethiopia. His birthday is May 20, 2008 and has been waiting 6 months. His reference number is:  ET-722-0124

Edgar Omar Vielman Estrada lives in Guatemala. He has been waiting for you to become his sponsor and wants to be a blessing in your life. His birthday is August 21, 2006 and his reference number is:  GU-492-0009

5. Colossians 4 02 August 2014

Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversations always be full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Final Greetings

7 Tychicus will tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord. 8 I am sending him to you for the express purpose  that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts. 9 He is coming with Onesimus, our faithful and dear brother who is one of you. They will tell you everything that is happening here. 10 My fellow prisoner Aristarchus sends you his greetings, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. (You have received instructions about him; if he comes to you, welcome him).  11 Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God. and they have proved a comfort to me. 12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. 13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hieraplis. 14 Our dear friend Luke , the doctor, and Demas send greetings. 15 Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house. 16 After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read in the church of the Laodcians and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.

17 Tell Archppus: “See to it that you complete the work you have received in the Lord”. 18 I Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you.

When the Holy Spirit shows me His Word and says to see to that it is also read in the church. I put out and may God grant us the willingness to do His will. May He encourage our pastors and leaders as they serve. In Christ Jesus, amen

6. Stop Picking On Me!

It’s the first week of school and Evelyn is already dreading another day of screaming off the top of her lungs, hurrying, and another day not getting to work on time. “This is becoming the norm in this house, and I don’t know if I can continue life this way.” Evelyn says to her husband Fred, while she kisses and sees him off to work. “Don’t worry, Lizzy will be fine.” He hollers as he hurry’s out the door, while checking his pocket for keys and wallet, and trying not to spill his coffee at the same time. “Sure, you don’t have to deal with this pre-teen.” She says as she shuts the door behind her.

“Lizzy, open the door!” shouts her younger brother while he pounds on the bathroom door. “Mom, Lizzy won’t hurry and I am going to be late for school again!”

“Lizzy, what is taking you so long, please for once let’s all be on time, honey.” Her mother pleads. She too is overwhelmed by now and too exhausted for another day of drama. “O Lord, what is happening to my little girl?” Evelyn prays silently, while she tries to pry the bathroom door open. “Honey, please open the door.” “I’m not going to school anymore!” Lizzy shouts, “I hate school!” she begins to cry. She unlocks the door so her mother can go in and comfort her.

“What is wrong, why are you crying?” Her mother ask as she wraps her arms around her daughter and suddenly feels her own frustration expel as she comforts Lizzy.

“I’m ugly.” Lizzy says, and she wipes her face on her mother’s bath robe. “I don’t want to go to school anymore.” She sniffles, and again, she reaches for her mother’s bath robe to wipe her nose.

“Honey, school is not an option, and I will not call out sick for you today. You need to tell me what is going on, so we can deal with it; but you are going to school.”

“Is someone bullying you?” Her mother asks.

“Yes”, Lizzy says and puts her head down while tears begin flowing down her cheeks. “I just want her to stop picking on me”! Evelyn reaches to wipe her tears, while she is feeling uneasy and angered that someone would dare pick on her daughter, hurt her baby girl. Again, she begins to pray the Lord will give her wisdom and the words to edify her daughter; it was obvious the pain her child felt was real and her intervention was imperative. Somehow, getting to work on time was not as important anymore. As she began combing Lizzy’s long black hair, she thought how to choose her words carefully, and proceeded, ‘Who is this person, and what is she/he doing to you?”

“She tells me I’m ugly every day and calls me names”, Lizzy says as she places a cool wash cloth on her puffy eyes. She calls me fat and says my clothes are too tight on my fat body’ she says I am dumb and I can’t do anything right”.

By hearing this Evelyn becomes angry and says,

“What is her name? I am going to talk to her parents now”!

“No mom, I will deal with it. It will go away”! Lizzy says as she becomes aggravated at her mother’s questions.

“This is not going to go away until we tell it to her parents. Maybe she is having problems at home and you happened to be her outlet”. Evelyn calmly says, as she remains calm, and tries to keep her temper in check. She realizes that her actions can slam this door shut; causing her daughter to lock that trust forever. “Times like these are so delicate”, she thinks to herself” She too had the same conversation with her own mother when she was a tween, but her mother did not handle it to well. Evelyn shut down, and avoided ever discussing personal things with her mother again. “Lord Jesus, Evelyn prays in her heart, please help me and give me wisdom. Help me to discern what is really going on in Lizzy’s heart. You love her and know her better than I. Please help me to keep the door of trust open with my daughter.

Evelyn begins to calm down and see past her own frustrations. Her anxiety losses power as she watches her daughter touching up her hair, and making herself ready for school. “Lizzy, her mother says, I love you, and you make you beautiful. You are beautiful in more ways than you can imagine. Your kindness, you are loving, and funny, you make people happy. I love your humor. God made you absolutely perfect. I want to help you, but I can’t if you don’t tell me the name of the person who is daunting you”.

“Lizzy looks at herself in mirror and says, “It is her”. “Who”? Her mother says, “Who are you talking about”? She looks around. “Her” Lizzy says again, “She is the one, the one I see every day in the mirror”.

7. Psalm 91 31 July 2014

I Dwell In The Shelter Of The Most High

Psalm 91:

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge, his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the Lord, who is my refuge—10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “ Because he love me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Lord of all creation hide us beneath the shadow of your wings. Be our refuge and shelter; our dwelling place always. Thank you for always being near, thank you for your Son. I pray for those who serve you; protect them Lord and heal them from the plague that has struck Africa, “Ebola”. You would not have shown me your word in Psalm 91 if you had no intention of accomplishing what you say and for that I praise you. Be exalted O God in the midst of all these events of war, famine, pestilence and plagues. Your unfailing love is always near to those who are still  living and those who have gone to sleep, they sleep in you. Your are faithful and your mercy,  who can comprehend?  Thank you Lord, thank you, blessed be the Name of the Lord.

In Christ Jesus, amen

8. Wait On The Lord 30 July 2014

Psalm 130

1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; 2 O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared. 5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6 My sould waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the mourning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. 7 O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Prayer:  Holy God, God of our hope, may Your Spirit quiet our souls and give us peace while we wait on You. Be our refuge and give us strength for today. May the joy of the Lord be our strength. May Your Spirit control our minds and keep our hearts, O Shepherd of our souls. May Your unfailing love show in the midst and confront our oppressors. May we hear Your voice say, “I Am Here”.

in Christ Jesus, amen and amen

Recieve refreshment as you sit quietly in My Presence

Recieve refreshment as you sit quietly in My Presence

The Lord reigns, let the nationation tremble; He sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake. 2Great is the Lord in Zion; He is exalted over all the nations, 3Let them praise Your great and glorious name——He Is Holy.

4The King is mighty, He loves justice—You Established Equity; in Jacob You have done what is right   5Exalt our God and Worship Him at His Footstool; —-He Is Holy.

6Moses and Aron were among his priests, Samuel was among those who called on His Name: they called on the Lord and He Answered them.  7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; they kept His statutes and the decrees He gave them. 8. O Lord our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished thier misdeeds. 9Exalt The Lord our God and Worship at His Holy Mountain, for the Lord our God Is Holy.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this day called today. Thank you for the evidence of Your Glorious Presence as we walk through this day. The bird calles, the majestic mountains, the ocean veiw, and even the sound of a baby’s laughter. May our hearts be filled with Your Wonder and give You Praise. When things begin to squeeze us with worry, Lord remind us of Your Faithfulness. If we are being mistreated, remind us of Your Unfailing Love. If in our own hearts we begin to judge, remind of The Cross. And Lord, someone is in need and we don’t want to help; remind us of the Mercy and Compassion You have shown us. May Your Spirit enable us to do Your Will today, In Jesus Name, amen and amen.

10. Proverbs 25:20

Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day,

or like vinegar poured on soda,

is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.

Blessing you my sweet sister with a grateful heart, yet again, my heart aches for you as mourn the loss of your child.

May Jesus comfort you today and remind of all the good memories of laughter, moments, and breakthroughs you and your son experienced together.

When you see the dove today, God’s messenger of peace, may your heart fill with the joy of knowing you will see your son again, standing on the clouds.

May your heart be comforted as you are reminded that God is with you and your child.

In Christ Jesus, amen

Clap Your Hands

Psalm 47

“Clap your hands, all you nations: shout to God with cries of joy. 2How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth! 3He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. 4He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.

5God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.  6Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.

7For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. 8God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His Holy Throne. 9The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings on the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.”

In times such as these when people around us are dying due to the war in their hearts caused by hatred, malice, rage, and envy, depression and oppression,  it would sound absolutely absurd to praise God, and that is what the devil wants you to believe. CLAP YOUR HANDS AND PRAISE THE LORD

We mourn our loved ones who are sick and some have died. Why would I praise the Lord, he did not answer my prayers? CLAP YOUR HANDS AND PRAISE THE LORD

A friend or relative betrayed you; you thought they would be there for you because you were there in their time of need. Your heart is crushed. CLAP YOUR HANDS AND PRAISE THE LORD

You say I may have lost my mind, to write this in times such as these, but as the war rises in your heart and mind CLAP YOUR HANDS AND PRAISE THE LORD and like a fly-swatter in the hand of God, He will swat those demons; crushing them under your feet. Like the sounds of music and the hand that plays the tambourine, so it is with the Hands of God; he will crush the enemy.

Isaiah 35:3  Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

12. Daily Devotional 1 Thessalonians 5:12 23 July 2014

12Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; 20do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.

23May God Himself, the God of peace, sancitify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.

25Brothers, pray for us. 26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. 27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

13. Standing On The Clouds—-AJ (20 July 2014)

A.J BEAR

July 20, 2014

Today tragedy hit too close to home. Our sweet AJ went to be with Jesus.

When I wrote this, I wondered, why would we call going to be with Jesus tragedy? How is it that going to be with Jesus could be so tragic? I myself long to go home to heaven. To the place of everlasting joy: yet, we call it tragic?

Last night before knowing my sweet nephew has passed, the Holy Spirit said, “Read Eccl. 4″. Which says,

“Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun:  I saw the tears of the oppressed and they had no comforter: power was on the side of their oppressors– and they had no comforter. 2And I declared that the dead, who had already died, are happier than the living, who are still alive”.

While I was in shock and confused over our loss, I pondered on this verse. I thought, “Is it the dead we mourn for or the ones left behind, who are filled with grief, is it they we mourn for?

My heart is heavy for my dear sister’s grief, yet the hope I have is she will see her baby again standing on the clouds. They will lock eyes as they did the day he was born. The memory of her labor pains were forgotten when she seen his face. And so it will be on this glorious day, the memory of this will be forgotten when they meet again standing on the clouds.

I Thessalonians 4:13:  Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe Jesus that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with Lord forever.”

Though I too mourn the loss of my precious nephew, my heart stays hopeful of God’s promise. I speak this for my baby sister, ” We shall meet again Mejo, We shall meet again, STANDING ON THE CLOUDS”………..

Wrong Crowd

It was December, 2010, my younger sister Vivian invited me to attend a Woman’s Ministry Christmas Dinner at her church in an upper class community in Awatukee. Christmas is a time of joy, peace, and giving, but I did not want to go because I had actually turned into a Scrooge. It was just the summer before I had separated from my husband of 29 years, our grown children were devastated, and would not have anything to do me, and my health began declining do to overwhelming stress and depression. My world came crashing down and my sister just wanted to see me laugh again. We always had fun together. Every year she and our friends would go out and have a girls’ night, and I was the clown. I’m sure it was hard for her to see me so bitter, and she just wanted me to have a good time. I had dreaded meeting her friends because I did not think we had much in common. They were successful in their trades, and I did not feel successful at anything at the time. My trade had been in the cleaning business for 28 years, but I just felt like a cleaning lady; I did not think I would fit in, and they were the wrong crowd for me.

My thoughts of the event throughout the day could have won a marathon for the most excuses in a single day. I called my sister first thing that morning and told her, I don’t have anything to wear.” She said, “I can let you borrow something.” I responded, “What would we talk about? They might ask me questions about mops, vacuums, and how to remove carpet stains? I don’t know if I can make it, I might get off work too late.” She said, “We will have a good time, just come.” When I had failed to convince her to think at my lower class level, I just called her later in the day and told her I was sick, but even that didn’t go well with her. She’s my sister, and she knows when I’m telling a lie. I couldn’t let her down. I finally made the decision to go and at least pretend I was having a good time. I had a really nice red dress hanging in the back of the closet. It was a little old but a quick dust and a nice fake pearl necklace, and ear-rings livened it up. “Maybe soft perfume will take the musty smell away” I thought. I even made it home early enough from work to go have my hair styled. It had been a long time since I dressed that nice, I actually looked really good. Again I thought, “If my husband could see me now, he definitely would complement me, and ask why I stopped making an effort to dress nice and have my hair combed and curled more often. Pony tails and jeans does get a little old, and this little effort started to make me feel a little better about myself.”

As I walked in, the greeter at the door was very friendly and I immediately noticed everything beautifully decorated. The tables were covered with white embroidered linen table clothes, topped with lit candles dressed with garland. The cloth napkins lay neatly folded, and the silverware were perfectly set in place, and the Chrystal wine glasses were placed to the right, above the dinner plates. The banquet room had a warm comforting feel, and everyone seemed to be relaxed, and having a good time. I even felt the tension subside from the battle I had in mind that whole day. I thought, “What a waste of energy.” I was also reminded of the times my husband, Jess and I would go to the extreme to decorate our home for our family, just like this. We would make tamales, menudo, cookies, and drink egg nog with family and friends. Christmas was our favorite holiday. My heavy heart began to lighten. When my sister had seen me walk in, she signaled and pointed at the seat she saved for me. She immediately introduced me to her friends and said, “I want to introduce my sister Lisa, she owns her own cleaning business. I am very proud of her.” I was surprised, I actually just wanted to be introduced, then ignored, but her friends engaged in conversation and did not ask me about mops, vacuums or what the best carpet stain remover is. They were all very nice and funny, we laughed a lot and I even told some dumb jokes!

As I drove home that evening, I reflected on my old habits and the kind of people I associated with. My choice of friends were the kind of people who kept me down by feeling sorry for me. They could have pitied me to death. I associated with the wrong crowd, and I needed to adjust my attitude and make better friend choices. I also felt really bad because I presumed the worst. I was bitter and I had a bad attitude. My assumptions were proved wrong and I wasted a whole day assuming the worst of people. That evening I made new friends. A good crowd of women who were kind and accepting. They later challenged me to get counseling and make changes in my life, which put me on a better path. My husband and I will be celebrating our 31st anniversary this August, and our children have also reconciled with us. I don’t think my life change would have happened if I continued living in the same old routine. I needed a new crowd of friends to challenge me to make changes, which led me here to college now.

It’s been a very long time since I have been here. I see I have some cleaning to do. Please excuse the mess. Jesus and I will be making some changes. I thought of closing this site; but glad to be home again.

16. What About High School?

Date: February 10, 2014

WHAT ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL?

Wow, I remember graduation day, Carl Hayden High Class of 1980!

I remember seeing all my classmates scurrying around trying to get ready for the big day, and

all the proud parent’s pointing at their child to friends and family members. Moms seem to be the most

proud of their child’s accomplishments, especially if he or she is the first to graduate high school.

I remembered the excitement of going to high school and my cousin who was already planning her

future in being a hair stylist experimented on me as she tried to give the popular style known as a

shag. I cried for days and hid my hair under a bandana and finally came to terms that she hated me and

her intention was to ruin my long beautiful hair. I now have beauty salon phobia!

I also remembered watching my very first friend, Hal, standing in his front yard while his mother was

straightened his tie, fixing his cap and checking his nicely ironed robe. That must have been the

happiest day of her life. For me, it was the saddest day of my life because I got myself pregnant in my

freshmen year and dropped out. I don’t have any high school memories to compare with college.

After a few dead beat jobs though, I did some rethinking which led me back to school. Now I am on

the journey of a higher education. I really enjoy college and I see so many people on the same path, as

we all fight traffic frantically trying to find a parking spot and rushing to make it to class on time.

It is all a good rush because there are dreams to come true now.

It was May 1974 our last day of school when I received my report card. I was filled with anticipation as I opened it up to see if I even passed. My grades were always below average and I would pass by the skin of my teeth. The second question that was bearing down on me was did I get assigned to Miss La Rose, as my seventh grade teacher.

21. Broken Heart

Last Wednesday morning I was awakened by a crushing pain in my chest. I couldn’t breath the pain was bad and I was taken to the hospital. I spent 3 days as the Dr.’s gave me test and nurses stuck me with needles! I hate needles!

By the grace of God all the test came back good; but the pain in chest was still there, and I couldn’t understand why nothing was found; that was until the hospital Champlain came and sat next to me in the lounge as I was having a cup of coffee.
He sat down as though he knew me personally, he looked at me and said, “You have sadness in your eyes. You are carrying to many burdens. Take care of your own heart and put everyone else’s at the feet of Jesus.” He took my hand and prayed for me.

I have been holding so much resentment and unforgiveness in my heart it was killing me, and I learned that all this has kept me from living the life God intended for me. Honestly, I don’t have much more to say about this because I still don’t know His plans for me. I do know this though, I don’t want cry anymore!

22. Wall of Prayer

Father,
Lord of heaven and earth and everything down to the depths of all creation. Hear my prayer for all the children and the youth.
I ask according to the redemption of Your Son that You send all of heavens angels (Ps.68) to build a wall of protection around the children and the youth
covered and soaked with the Blood of Your Precious Son (John 3:16). I pray for thier teachers and caretakers as well for the peace that comes from You, not the world.
Keep the preditor at bay; beneath the Feet of Jesus. I pray that those who try to bring drugs or weapons into the schools will mysteriously lose them and sent into
a drunken stopur, but not with wine. May the Gospel of Jesus Christ be revealed in all schools through those You have chosen do so.

Father, I pray that You take away; destroying the power of self-conscienseness and give realization of Christ in us. Forever, Your Name be Extalted! Amen, amen
