"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."- Robert Laurence Binyon

17. Aurelie's moon: Rough sketch

There's something about rough pencil sketches that I like which brings so much life and energy into it.  I think it is the power of rough quick strokes that gives you the illusion of life and what goes in an artists mind and his desire to bring life on paper, and sometimes-- it's just his rambling thoughts wandering on a sheet of paper.

Actually, on this one... it's both! I'm still unhappy with the finished version and still debating about some of the elements for the book. I'll post more about my process on future posts. I've been busy these past few months at work but my passion and desire to work on this book hasn't diminished. It's been a real challenge juggling work and personal work at times, but I'm having a blast so far!

Anyway, below is one of the projects I did recently. I am proud to be a part of this animated film and thankful for getting a chance to work with a few of my fellow ex-Disney Artists. Below is the DVD cover for the pilot of Superbook 2 where I got the pleasure to work as a Character Designer. For those who has seen it back in the 80's, this is for you, and your kids! I designed the characters of David and Goliath plus the incidental characters and some BG elements/prop designs. Anyway, I hope you'll grab a copy when it comes out!

18. ...and the journey continues!

"Come rescue me, oh dear Aurelie!" Guided by the voice and the howling winds, she sailed through the dancing waves by the light of moon.
