Like a mix of the polar bear and a grizzly, the Spirit Bear or Kermode Bear received recent favor in light of further and substantial Canadian protections of the Great Bear Rainforest. Good on 'ya Canada! Kind of like the President potentially adding further protections to the Arctic National Wildlife refuge... where a choice can be made in favor of the environment over continued exploitation of resources.

I thought this was a great guide to helping an amateur take some wonderful photos. The techniques explained are simple and easy to follow and the pictures that are supplied to give examples really help out with your understanding of the subject matter. The photos really do the guide justice.
I liked the friendly nature in which the children are shared with the reader, giving us a more personable feel to the techniques. I found everything understandable and think any novice to intermediate photographer would find many things to use. I thought the use of reflectors to aim the light on the subject perfectly to be quite interesting, it was the easiest explanation that I have found on that particular application. I didn't realize how much light can make or break a photo until you see the examples given.
I would recommend this to anyone serious about taking a better photo, trying to capture the right character in your child. Removing even the simplest of obstacles can make your picture great. It is well worth the read, I am sure everyone would find something out of it to help them better their current picture taking abilities!

Way back in February tattoo artist Jason Pedersen was highlighted on Illustration Pages for his exquisite tattoo work. Since the main focus of that article was his tattoo art none of Jason's amazing paintings were featured - until now.
Michael Paulus is currently offering more affordable versions of a select few of his popular cartoon skeletal systems in an entirely different format. Taken from his original 'flip-top' interactive pieces with the cartoon characters as an overlay; these are solely the skeletal elements but re-drawn, notably larger, and more detailed than the originals
Micheal's skeletal drawings have been used as reference material from grade school classrooms to grad school PowerPoint lectures in medicine and forensics, and have been featured in publications such as Discover, Cabinet, and Pig magazines, Virgin Atlantic's Carlos, and various other international newspapers and magazines.
Amazingly, these drawings match seamlessly to the cartoon characters they are based on.
Ben Powis' unique style has a Tim Burton type of atmosphere to it with similar Burton style hints of humor slipped in here and there. Ben has somehow managed to create illustrations that are spooky but yet inviting. Your actually drawn into Ben's illustrations - feeling more like a participant not merely a viewer.

If you’re familiar with the grotesque heads of Leonardo da Vinci then you know where the inspiration for these drawings originated. These grotesque heads are the creation of Savannah, Georgia artist, Jesse Payne. Unlike the gestural pen drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, Jesse’s drawings were created using various graphite pencils and offer far greater detail than the originals.
Jesse Payne’s creatures are truly disturbing to look at. Every hair, wrinkle, blister, and pore of their skin has been carefully considered and rendered with extreme detail. You can almost smell the stench of their hot, stale breadth and musty clothes. And there’s no background to these images. It gives the sense that these people could be standing anywhere, in a dark closet ready to pull you in as you open the door or behind you now as you read this post. Can you feel the tingling on the back of your neck?
Have a look at Jesse Payne’s Facebook page for other incredible drawings he has posted. There he has portraits that are literally melting off the page – a very interesting and unique concept.
There’s almost no greater personal connection between artist and client than that of the tattoo artist and his patron. Think about the level of trust you must have in an artist’s abilities to commit to wearing their artwork permanently on your body.
Looking at the artwork of Arizona tattoo artist Jason Pedersen it’s easy to see how he has earned that trust with so many who have decided to make that commitment.
