3. Heroes vs Lost

This is for "Heroes vs Lost". I have to thank my wife Rose for the idea. For those that are unfamiliar with the shows I used time traveler Hiro from Heroes to face off against the strange Polar Bear from Lost. I guess Hiro really blinked himself into something this time. I did this color one really getting my feet wet with digital coloring and effects.

Also have the requisite pencil drawing I worked from.

4. Heroes - Nathan Petrelli

Been wanting to do a Heroes illustration for the "Heroes vs. Lost" theme, but I was way too busy.

I finally had a moment, so here is Nathan Petrelli flying away from Mr. Bennet and the Haitian in episode 5, "Hiros"

6. Lost in Translation

LinkMy "Post Something Monday" submission just so happens to be my "Lost vs. Heroes" submission as well. I'm a big fan of both shows, but if I had to choose between the two I'd pick Lost any day. Which leads me to the inspiration for this particular illustration. Is it just me, or has anyone else ever noticed how much Hurley's head looks just like the island?

7. Long time no post, peoples.

First, my submission for the theme. Next, a whole lot of poop.

Long time no-post. I've been busy working, so I can't complain. Now that I have a bit of free time, I'm working at a blog redesign and a set of marketing collateral that will reflect those changes. This first illustration is a direct result of those efforts; it's me, puking, and it'll be the information side of my business cards. The pertinence of my puke will not be understood until my blog relaunches. So, yeah, you probably shouldn't pay it a second thought.

The second illustration is one of about twenty similar illustrations I've been working on for a stock art set to be sold at a fine stock art location near you soon. Or so the plan goes. It's a monstrous beast; everything in the set is. All sea creatures. Moving on.

And, lastly, here's a quick portrait of a friend done during the wee hours while waiting for another friend to make his way through traffic. He was late by about forty five minutes, so I'm assuming this took about that long to create.

As always, check out my blog, watch me draw on YouTube, or feel free to contact me if your curious about my process. I like to talk about myself. And it's one of my more endearing qualities.

8. Dude, my first post!

Hey, it's my very first post! I feel slightly guilty that I'm not posting a new image (I posted this over a year ago on my own blog for Illustration Friday's "lost" theme) but I couldn't resist a Heroes vs. Lost challenge.

To be honest, I'm enjoying Heroes these days more than Lost, which has stagnated into something kinda boring this season.

11. Lost

Oh dear, I feel like such a loser - I don't watch either of those shows! Now if it was House vs. Ugly Betty I'm there. This is an oldie but it's Hansel & Gretel, lost in the woods and the darn bird has eaten their trail of gaucamole doritos.

12. "I did it!" (SFG Challenge, Lost vs. Heroes)

Hmm...Hiro has the power to travel in time...Desmond got blown up and ended up 5 years in the past...coincidence?? Or will the future "Ninja-Hiro" be unveiled as the real leader of Dharma Initiative?!?!

BTW, here are some great Hi-Rez images of the characters from Lost:
