1. A Good Get

7-Imp captures a rare glimpse of fellow kidlit blogger David Elzey this week. It's an interview worth taking note of. After all, if you're not a regular reader of the excelsior file by now, you should seriously reconsider your blog-reading priorities. Aside from his intelligent commentaries on classic folktales and tropes, the man has the rare ability to pin down exactly why a book does or does not work. I refer you at this time to his comments regarding the new Sticky Burr book. Smurfs in burr form? Precisely.

2. Talking the Talk. Walking the Walk. Mocking the Mock.

As I assume that all of you already are aware of the 7-Imp interviews, I don't like to point out one over another for fear of people thinking that I'm choosing my favorite people. So let's just makes something perfectly clear, children: I love each and everyone of you equally. Except for you, Alvina. I like you a whole heckuva lot more, so I'm highlighting the 7-Imp interview with you that's up right now.

And if you find yourself pouting over my fickle heart, do so while checking out this great interview with Calef Brown which I found via Children's Illustration. Those of you intending to polish up your interview skills would do well to perform a compare/contrast on these two different styles of the form.

3. A Little Late On My Congrats

Better late than never, though.

I'd just like to offer a tip of the hat to Jen Robinson of the fellow kidlit blog Jen Robinson's Book Page on her super sweet podcast interview located on the site Escape Adulthood. Someday I aim to have a pretty pretty blog just like that one with pictures and podcasts and all the frills and furbelows.

4. Selznick Interview

Nice "get", Scholastic.
NPR's interview with Brian Selznick is up and running. Such a charming man. The site where you can find the interview also includes a section from the book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, itself.
