And yet another direction. Baby fabric.
I had fun doing this. This is a little character I have in development. Hopefully he will be on lots of 'stuff' one day.
Doing fabric requires knowing how to do "repeats". This design is an example of a "toss repeat". I designed the fabric as a 12 x 12 square, which can be repeated endlessly.
If you would like to learn how to do this too, I HIGHLY recommend Tara Reed's series on how to do repeats and get your art in a licensing-friendly format. Get it here. Tara is a wealth of information on the licensing biz, and very generously shares it with everyone. I also have her Mock-up Magic series, which teaches you how to put your art on products to show manufacturers. Also great!
We are having quite the apocalyptic storm here today, so its a good day to stay in and do art!

Hey Paula! Good to see your post! Dying for news of new kittens, or, even more excited to hear that there are NOT new kittens!
LOVE the fabric! This little dog with the spot on his eye; adorable. I remember him! Perfect for baby fabric. Yes, I've attempted 'scatter' designs, and it's darn tough to get them to look 'natural' and not overly 'manipulated,' but still 'work' when tiled/repeated. Will read up about it at Tara's site.
We've been POUNDED with 'weather' here, too, since last weekend. Lots of rain (more than we've seen in a LONG while), wind, had a cloudburst/ downpour the other day, complete with hail..... Very exciting.... When will it all end......? Hang in there; supposed to be nicer weather next week!
Tuck in, keep warm and take care!
very cute!
Yes, I shared in the apocalyptic storm yesterday...yikes! I'm sooo glad you mentioned your sources for learning the ropes when it comes to designing repeated patterns. I've been enamored by them, but have had no idea how to begin. Thanks, Paula! (Oh, and this is adorable...very Pottery Barn Kids-ish!)
