1. Interview with editor Krista Marino: link

Here's a link to Shelli's blog. She did a fantastic interview with editor Krista Marino re: the importance of a web-presence for the writer, what she's interested in acquiring, among other things. It's worth checking out!

Click here to teleport yourself from my cyber room to Shelli's. :0)

2. What does your blog say about you?

Tara posted this test on her blog. This test was (for the most part) scary-spot-on for me! While age and life circumstances has taken a bit of my "energy and talking" away, this is still mostly true. I'm not always a big talker, but if I feel comfortable, I can be. Go to typelyzer, stick in your blog address and they analyze your personality based on your blog. This is what they said about me:

ESTP - The Doers

The active and playful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.

The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.

3. I Love your blog Award Nominations!

Brenda - has awarded me the "I Love Your Blog" award! Thank you Brenda! That made my day! :0) I do LOVE Brenda's blog about writing and her Going Green tips, but since I'm supposed to pass on the award, I don't think I'm allowed to pass it back to her. but if I could, I would. :0)

Here are the rules...

1) Add the logo of your award to your blog.
2) Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.
3) Nominate at least seven other blogs.
4) Add links to those blogs on your blogs.
5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

And now I get to nominate 7 other blogs for the award...so here goes These are the blogs I love:

YA Fresh = authors Kelly Parra and Tina Ferraro talk up all things YA and have fun contests with book giveaways. They are generous and funny! I love what they do!

The Bookshelf Muse = Becca and Angela probably already received this award, but for all the hard work they do on their emotion and setting thesauraus, they deserve the award again!

Jacqui's Room = Author Jacqui Robbins posts pert' near every day about books, writing and life in general and manages to keep me laughing!

Trees are not Lollipops = This is Kate's blog about life, art and writing. Her title alone captured me! It makes me smile every time I look at her logo. :0) I'm smiling right now just thinking about it.

Roots in Myth = Author PJ Hoover shares tips on writing and insights into her writing journey.

Writermorphosis = I'm proud to say that Janelle is a critique buddy of mine and a very talented writer. She was a Cybils judge last year and writes insightful posts about writing and books. Her last post cracked me up!

Ian Sands = Another one of my critique buddies, Ian is crazy-genius creative! His imagination is inspiring!

Thanks for the great blog-reads guys!

4. Introducing the GOALIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the Goalies Group Members

This is me (middle) Janelle and Joe
My critique group has set up a blog! We call ourselves the "Goalies" because when we were coming up with a name, we were big on setting goals for ourselves. Plus, one of our founding members, Ian Sands, is a goalie for a local ice hockey team. (Ian is also responsible for decapitating our heads and transplanting them on top of goalie bodies.)

The posts are starting to roll! Come on over, add a comment or just say "hi!"

See you on the rink! ;0)

5. Pick of the Week Thursday: Pachydermcasso

My favorite blog of the week was at Gurney Journey. This elephant can actually paint! Not just random aimless strokes, but deliberate painting of an elephant holding a flower! And the flower is much better than any I could ever do! Heck, even the elephant is better than what I can do. I'm in awe. So. Todays blog winner is a tribute goes to the elephant. I'll call him Pachydermcasso.

6. The Agent Quest: AKA the search for the needle in the haystack

Who to send to? Who accepts what? Who's looking for what genre? Who is currently looking for new clients?

If you're on the hunt for an agent, there are two great sites out there. The first one is www.agentquery.com/
There, you'll find tips, resources and advice on submitting to an agent, plus it has an advanced search feature to help you find an agent targeted to your specific genre. This one also allows you to find out what agents represent other authors.

The other site is www.litmatch.net/
This site has similar features as the first site, and this one also has a "submission tracker" feature to help you stay organize. Isn't that nice? :0) The results are a little easier to follow from this site.

Both sites are great and allow you to find agents who are actively seeking new clients and will also tell you if they accept e-mail queries and what works they represent.

Good luck in your search

7. Gemma Malley's Top 10 Dystopian Novels

Don't miss Gemma Malley's (author of The Declaration) top 10 dystopian novels for teens in today's Guardian. I wish Zamyatin's We were on the list, but other than that, it's an excellent top 10.
