1. New toys

I treated myself to some new art toys recently.

The one on the left is the newest love of my life, my X-acto School Pro electric pencil sharpener. This thing is amazing! It sharpens to the sharpest point I've ever seen, and FAST. Its designed for school use, so you know its built to last. You can adjust the hole size to accommodate whatever kind of pencil you're using. And its pretty quiet too. (Office Depot isn't the only place that has them. I bought mine at the art store here, and the prices vary a lot, so maybe shop around.)

The other thing is my "Tool Turn-about" from the Pampered Chef, which I'm using as a pencil caddy. (Thank you Nicole Caulfield for telling us about this!) Its spins, and is very sturdy. You can see how it was put to use on my last piece (the little tomatoes from down below).

Both things have made my life easier, and that's always a good thing.
