Took a field-trip today to Whidbey Island.
It was a *perfect* day of sun and water....
(although a bit hazy on the horizon - would barely make out the mountains...)
The son and wife came along with me.
The tide was going out as we arrived.
It was actually a SUPER low tide this afternoon.
ACRES of exposed sand...
...and rarely exposed seaweed gardens....
You can tell by the barnacle encrustation that rocks like this one are normally submerged.
The north sides of all these rocks hid all sorts of critters in their shade - mussels, hermit crabs, whelks, anemones, etc...
Lots of larger crabs out on the sand.

It was a gorgeous, perfect day. (I am so sunburned!)
Okay, waiting to hear from bloggers who have etsy stores for my code to be functional. Getting ready to execute my IF illo, just need a little inspiration. And...I'm procrastinating. I'm finally rewriting my proposal for one of my books and well, I'm putting it off. Everything seems so fascinating to me. Look at that fly. Oh, I need to do laundry. What if that tree outside has healing powers to get me grounded! I wonder if I paid that bill....etc. etc. I have brain pollution and need to brain vomit.
You see, the problem is lately I seem to be taking too much in that I can't even process. I have 20 books from the library on everything from Sacred Geometry to Color Pencil to Art Journaling to yes, Writing a Proposal. I've gone to two meetings this week for networking. I feel like I've been starving and I finally made it to the candy store with this move to this new town. There's 5 of everything, where before, there wasn't even one. So, I guess, I am overdoing it all. My brain is buzzing.
Which leads me back to that proposal. I guess I don't want to do it because I thought it was just fine how it was and now my inner child artist is rebelling. Will see...

Sounds exciting all tis new stuff, but I can see why you need to sit back and just let it all sink in. i think my creative self would be rebelling too!
And moving is such a big thing too. Still I'm so glad it's all working out so positively for you.

Try working at an advertising agency 12 hours a day where everything is always on fire and your pants are burning. I only wish I could have the time to read one book this year without falling asleep during my free time between midnight and 5am. whew! Want to trade places? :)
Hey Sully's girl. Been there, done that long ago when I worked at the newspapers. Never again..but for me, lately I'm seeking an in-between busy and boredom.
a fun journal - nice to see your artistic process. have you tried doing any "mind maps"?

I'm having a little "brain pollution" problem of my own! I'm sure your proposal is fine. After I write a query letter, I'm never o.k. until it's in the mail!
