1. Comic Jam! Exhibit

I've been a bit behind on blogging lately. Last weekend was a great time- here are some pics from the Comic Jam! Exhibit. (Courtesy of River Gallery)

I have two color pieces for the show, plus process sketches on the side.

This show really pushed me to explore one of my story ideas that were originally for a picture book. It was also nice to do a comic story in color, done in Illustrator, with a more muted color palette. Hope to continue with it and eventually have another comic book in the works!

2. Illustration of a Boy in a Tree

I'm adding more boys to my portfolio. It was pointed out to me by Mr. Seven that I draw mostly girls. Sorry! I also want to get more pictures of kids doing things done, too.

I'm working on a promotional mailer. Actually, I am torturing, over-thinking, and otherwise dragging my feet on this project. I am a terrible client! I really want to get it out this week. Pipe dream, I'm afraid. I did, however, get to take a field trip to my local scrapbook store. What a celebration of color, texture, and design. I'm so glad I don't scrapbook, because we'd go broke and have no room to sit if I did! The store owners were bubbling with excitement over their trip to the CHA show. I so wish I could have been there. It must be amazing.
