2. 9 Fishes/ 9 Pesci

This is one of my favourite, I suppose. Maybe the sea theme, the blue/orange contrast, the different tecniques. May be all this things together. Who knows?

Lo ammetto, questo è uno dei miei preferiti. Forse il tema del mare, il contrasto tra il blu e l'arancio, l'uso di tecniche diverse. Magari tutte queste cose insieme, chi lo sa?

4. IF: Celebrate (Valentine's Day)

This is my way to celebrate Valentine's Day: one flower, two lovers and a city peeping them from its thousand windows. But this is also my way to celebrate my first oil painting: on Illustration Friday!

Questo è il mio modo di celebrare San Valentino: un fiore, due amanti e una città che li osserva con le sue mille finestre. Ma questo è anche il mio modo di celebrare il mio primo quadro a olio: su Illustration Friday!

5. Free Divers/ Tuffatori Liberi

Despite what I've painted, I'm quite scary jumping over 1 m high. Maybe I'm beginning tu use my paintings as a cathartic therapy for my acrophobia.

A dispetto di quanto ho dipinto, ho paura di lanciarmi da altezze che superino il metro. Forse sto cominciando a utilizzare i miei quadri come terapia catartica contro la mia acrofobia.

10. How to Save Your Tail by Mary Hanson

In this Sheherazade type tale, Bob, a mouse, keeps telling stories to Muffin and Brutus, cats, so he will not be eaten.  The stories all feature a mouse as a main character in one of the more well known fairy tales from Cinderella to Jake and the Beanstalk.  They are fun because there is always a little twist to them, like Cinderella turning into a horse and Bob turning into the girl in a fancy outfit.  But are his storytelling skills enough to outwit the two cats?

This was a cute, quick book.  For kids who like fairy tales and animal stories, it is a sure fire hit.  It is also short (merci a dieu! ) which is getting rarer and rarer in children’s lit these days.

12. Tudor Roses,Or Happy Birthday King Henry VIII

Kate OUP-US

It’s King Henry VIII’s birthday on June 23 and I have a confession to make: I’m a huge Tudor nerd. I think it’s the most interesting period in history, so much drama and intrigue, it’s the ultimate soap opera. (more…)
