Am I doomed to battle with my scanner for the rest of my life? It never quite gets the colors right. If it looks close to the original on-screen, it's too washed out in a print. If it's good in a print, it's garish on-screen. Sigh... technology... I love it! I hate it! I love it...
Here was the sketch for this piece. We're actually expecting snow this afternoon... time to light a fire and make cookies!

This week's IF topic "twist" made me think of the very over priced $3 pretzel I had at the Bronx Zoo this past weekend. But I was starving.
This looks a bit different than my usual work because I wanted to play more and not think about if this could be a portfolio piece for me-which freezes me up.
Some thoughts when I made this piece:
- -more texture!
- -A more conscious decision about changing my usual color palette. Looked at colourlovers.com for inspiration
- -love the look of organic line work and wanted to incorporate that in my work
- -Should I draw people or animals? How about just some blobs instead?

Love your blog. Check it every so often and it always amazes me how each one reveals a little more about you. Bet you had great parents! A friend from PW.
Thanks, friend. Yes, my parents were pretty cool, I must say. Hmmm... don't I know you from somewhere??
:-)
I love this Jennifer! It's gorgeous... :o)
Thanks, Alicia! I see you like dogs, too...
:-)
Don't get me started on technology! It has been a love/hate thing for me this past week trying to get computers set up for my wife's preschool class. Thank God we don't NEED computers to draw or paint!
Love the illustration!
Thanks, Tom!
Oh boy do I relate-- I'm completely scared of (and yet, in awe of) my computer! But old-fashioned about the painting and drawing, luckily.
Glad you stopped by!
