1. Charles The Octopus

Here is a new little friend I did using paper. I enjoyed cutting him out and making the wonky eyes.

2. Time To Play!

I don't know what motivated me to do this?? I have had the idea rolling around in my head/notebook for a long time. It's just something fun I did!

I did this using scraps of paper from my huge pile and a little bit of dye ink. If you interested in a print I will have it available in my Etsy shop soon.

3. Sea Horse and Shell

Working on this sea horse took quite awhile. I was holding my breath a lot because I was afraid I was going to blow the tiny bits all over the cutting mat. I know this happens from experience!

I created these by using cream colored cardstock and pastels.

6. So True! Books A Wonderful

8X10 paper and dye ink

I wasn't much of a reader when I was younger but now I LOVE to read (I don't make enough time for it). A friend tried to talk me into getting a Kindle but I'm totally old school when it comes to books. I love the feel of the pages, cover illustrations, using my paper book marker, and seeing all the pages I've read makes me happy. However, the all time best part is when I am all done, placing it on my bookshelf along with all my other "I've enjoyed all these books" place. That's the best!

7. Peacock #2

Look at the mess on the desk! You should see the floor...yikes

I still have so much work to do on this peacock! I got tired of cutting tail feathers so I decided to take a break for the moment and paint.

9. Psalms 63:4 Finished

I finished this piece today and took some blurry pictures of it. My camera is going downhill because I have two boys that will not leave it alone. The poor lens seems destined to forever have kid's fingerprints on it!

I was happy to finish up the piece for James and am looking forward to dropping it off at the benefit held at my parent's church.

40X40 wood frame (yep, I made it) paper, paint and dye ink. Lots of love and elbow grease are added into the mix.

10. Art For James

I am participating in a fundraiser to help a family friend who was critically injured in a car accident. I am doing this artwork especially for the benefit so hopefully it will raise some money for his family.

I'm not done with it but I will show you more pictures later when I finish.

12. Butterfly on Grass

My new little friend. I have so many in my flower garden right now because of the milkweeds Ryan planted last year. Nature is so amazing!

This one is all paper. My fingers kinda hurt a bit after all the cutting. Lots and lots of cutting!

14. This Busy Weekend Is All Done!

I wanted to share with you my finished little bird project. I was so happy to get this done in time for the Arts Market for Saturday. I got these old frames and painted them this great chocolate color. These were some of the ugliest frames EVER! One was this strange red color and the big one in the middle was yellow and white. I wish I could have taken pictures of them before so you could see...maybe next time.

Wow what a busy weekend! It was so nice that on Sunday I got to relax and do nothing. Well, kinda nothing compared to usual. Today I did get some shopping done, ran a few errands, cleaned around the house, got several loads of laundry and ironing finished. Doesn't sound like I got to relax but believe me I did.

Here are a few shots of the Artist Market I was at on Saturday...

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to see me...you rock!

HAPPY MONDAY!

19. Too Much Style

Here is another one on my gals. When I was little I loved playing with paper dolls. I would always make them some clothes and accessories...as you can see not much has changed. Now I get to play with more than just safety scissors!

21. Constantly Growing

I put up some new artwork in my Etsy shop today...yay for getting something done! It is a growing "love" tree with a couple of birds sitting. The quote says, "love is a constantly growing experience". How true is that statement! This piece is a fun size, 23 1/2" X 8" because it is on scrap wood I made into a frame. It has a wonderful 2" border that I just love doing and if you're curious it weighs around 2.6 lbs.

Love is in the air!

23. All Done Little Bird

Got my little orange bird piece done today. It looks kinda small on the wall but it really isn't. It's a strange size because it was an old piece of wood from my scrap pile I used...this sucker measures 30" 1/2 X 7" 1/2 X 2" (told ya it was an odd size) and it's got some weight to it also.

I've been making my frames with very deep edges lately. I like the idea of the piece being more than just what's on the front. Aah, the feeling of doneness...is that even a word?
