I've been reading up and doing studies of seahorses in preparation for a new book project. I'm looking at video, and lots of pictures in order to better understand their anatomy. Perhaps with more development this head shot can be used somewhere in the book.

Back at the Society of Illustrators for a Thursday Sketch Night. This was a 5 Minute warm up pose. While I cleaned it up a bit after the fact, I like the unfinished look.

I'd still like to work on the reflection a bit more, but the addition of the fawn adds a lot to the storytelling element.

This is a big file because when I blow it up I want all the details to be present. Here's one of the stars of the painting.

Digital painting for a show at the Society of Illustrators titled: EARTH Fragile Planet. Still a little more I'd like to do, but theoretically I can keep adding details forever.
Did you know that over 75% of our nations wetlands are privately owned? Now you know.

My friend Paul and his brother decided a few years ago to try making wine. Now three years later they are winning awards, and the wine is just awesome. But every wine bottle needs a label.
I sketched the Muscoot bar and restaurant last spring, and as a frequent visitor, and friend of the owner, Paul wanted to name his white wine after it.

A friend of mine is starting his own painting and wallpaper business. He asked me to design a card for him. We incorporated the sketch I did of the Bedford Oak last spring into the design.

Grew this guy in my backyard. Something was chewing on the leaves, but it managed to survive that attack... Then I brought it to a Lobsterfest party where it wound up getting smashed. The guilty person(s) are still at large... $20,000 for information leading to an arrest. Happy Halloween everybody!

The original sketch was done several years ago, but I have always wondered what this would look like with a little color.

Every summer we throw a big party at a camp site in Bear Mountain called Wingfest. We lug kegs back there, cook wings, and I sell T-shirts. This is a compilation of the designs for the past ten years... Cartooning is what got me into the arts as a young lad, and it's good to return to it every now and then (or annually as the case may be).

I've enjoyed taking a look back at some of my earlier work. I feel like revisiting some of the concepts I've abandoned and see if they still have legs.

It is a good pose, you picked a good angle too! Has a mood to it, nice!
Thanks Tristan. That's why I like to get to the Society early. Front row seat = interesting/challenging angles.
