1. Etsy Issues

As some may know, Etsy has made some major changes over the past few months...and none of them have made it easy on the small shop owners like myself. The changes have been so drastic many shop owners have left Etsy to find a new way of selling their handmand items and keep their small businesses afloat. I have to admit, I've debated about leaving too. Etsy started as a place for artists and crafters to sell their handmade goods in a sort of virtual community. It was like being at one giant

2. To Con or Not To Con

The big question of the day: To Con or Not To Con? I took this year off from comic conventions so I could catch up on artwork and build my online shop. Both things worked out great, I have created a lot of new art this year and my online shop is producing great sales. Now I'm wondering if doing 20+ conventions a year is really something I want/need to do. The cost of tables + hotel + travel + food + time is always a factor and even though, at most cons, I do rather well in sales it is still an

3. What's new with Beckadoodles

Time to start using my updated website more regularly. I created a super cute solar system and an equally cute Neil deGrasse Tyson...why? becasue NDT is adorable and needed to be a sticker and a print and of course a t-shirt. Oh and because I giggled really hard when I thought of NDT walking Pluto on a leash, because he's not big enough to hang with the other planets. Here's a few images of my work in progess: Sketches of NDT and some of his planet friends Closeup shot of cartoon Mr. Tyson A

4. Q and A

Thanks to the help of some followers on my facebook page, I had to ask myself a bunch of questions for a bio Q and A to be used on a new site I'll be contributing artwork to...and it's going to be hard to pick my favorites! You guys asked some really good questions! (the kitten questions are pretty poignant!) Here are all the questions (some of them were similar so I grouped them together) Thanks again for the help, guys! You're the greatest! Q. When did you decide to make drawing your life's

5. Star War the Clone Wars: Rise of the Bounty Hunters

Now that the set is out and the boxes are being opened I will show off the cards I did for this set. 200+ to be precise! I did mostly Reds for Target and have seen a few up for auction on ebay and some friends have been lucky enough to pull one of mine! yippie!

I put a folder to the left with all the cards so take a look and enjoy! All the cards on this set were done in watercolor, just to change things up a bit!

6. Who Draws the Best Boobs Contest

Some silly boys, Jon Riggle and Ryan M Kincaid, thought they would add me to their little game of who draws better boobies...well now it's up to the public to decide!  We had to draw Dejah Thoris super sexy Martian Princess.  Jonryanbeckboobies           Left: Jon's entry.                   Middle: Ryan's entry.       Right: Beck's entry.

Jon put a poll up on his deviantart account, if you don't have an account there you can't vote, but you can sign up (for free) vote and cancel your account or stay there and enjoy a lot of great art from 1000's of awesome artists!  Here's the link http://JonRiggle.deviantart.com/ and vote for who did the best job on the boobie drawing. Oh and if you vote for mine you love kittens and I'll give you a HUG! *wink*

You can see me draw and color my Dejah on my artcast!

8. New Pinups!

I was commissioned to draw a pinup for a great friend, Brad Duncan, but he couldn't decide what he wanted!  He gave me a long list and I was supposed to pick just one to draw for him on my artcast. It was way too hard to pick just one so I narrowed it down to 3 and drew and colored them on my twice weekly show.  He had the difficult task of choosing his favorite! Here's links to the two shows where these awesome girlies were brought to life!  Show one and Show two

Here are the three girls I picked "Harley Quinn", "Nara Kilday" and "Huntress", he ultimately choose Huntress, but come on...who wouldn't? she's hot!

10. #mrvlcats

So wandering around twitter the other day I happily feel onto this post and decided the internet needed more cute kittens in Marvel super hero costumes.  I mean seriously who doesn't want to see that?  Be ready to giggle and be sure you're empty yourself of all liquids cuz you're gonna want to tinkle! hehe

Here is my interpretation of the Fantastic Four in feline form or as I like to call it "The Fantasti-Cat Four" and of course everyones favorite green guy "Hulk Kitty"

Enjoy! I know you will...

11. SW Clone Wars Cards! Hell ya!

Finally finished up my 208 SW The Clone Wars: Rise of the Bounty Hunters cards for Topps/Lucasfilm!! These took a lot out of me this time around.  Way too busy and way too short of a deadline...and way too many red cards!!!  But they are super cute and some have some glitter...I know they wouldn't be mine without. Here is a sneak preview of a some of this giant batch of coolness. More to come soon!

13. Sexy Tonks commission

Another artcast, another sexy cartoon! This time it's "Tonks" from Harry Potter.  She was commissioned to go with "Hermione" and "Ginny" (pretty sure this fan is going to order more HP Girls in the future...*wink wink*).  Tonks was fun to draw because of her sassy style and all the colors!  I especially love the purple hair! oh and the glitter on her wand too...

You can watch me draw and color her on my Artcast oh and I ate some m-m's while I doodled! hehe

14. Ginny Pinup

Tonights artcast featured a hot little Ginny pinup and a Gargmel (from Smurfs) sketch card.  It was super fun and Ginny turned out nice! hehe  The artcast makes me work a bit faster and actually encourages me to be better at each drawing.  I think my skills have improved since I started broadcasting.  If you haven't watched a show...you should!  It's a lot of fun to watch, I even sing...badly but it's fun to laugh!

Here's Ginny and cute and sexy...

15. Artcast goodies!

Tonights artcast was super fun! Here's what I finished...these were commissioned by a wonderfully fun guy who wants his stuffed Koala Bear added to every PSC.  Isn't that great?

Leia and her little Koala friend, Rose Tyler (Doctor Who) loves the little guy,

Koala sketchcards

The big bad fluff ball battles the Black Knight from Holy Grail and of course that's Xena!

This was one of the best commissions I've ever done!  So much fun adding that little bear in each scene.  I hope the add a little fun to his collection!

Like always I taped tonights show, but for reasons I don't understand ustream only taped 38 minutes of a 2 hour show...so you can see some of the fun! Beck's Doodles

19. Live ArtCast!

I started doing a live artcast a few weeks ago and really like it!  Doing art in front of a camera and an audience makes me work a bit faster and actually a bit more efficiently.  It's great to hear automatic feedback from fans and watchers about the project as I'm doing it.  And of course if you've ordered a commission, you get to see it live!  I've had fun and would like to continue doing a live artcast at least once a week.  I've done more than one a week recently just to work out the "bugs" and get used to talking and working and of course learning all the "techie" stuff.  Here is the E.T. sketch card I did today.  The client asked for him "dressed like an old lady" like in the movie.  I also have to draw "Mr. T for the same client...I've said it before...I'll draw ANYTHING!
