1. Internet Scavenger Hunt - #16

This is a sticky note for Wednesday; please scroll down for new entries.

Treasure Map

Ready for another Internet Scavenger Hunt?
Hunt Status: Closed - WE HAVE TWO WINNERS! Congratulations Courtney and Tami

Even though the hunt is closed, please feel free to visit the blogs below for the answers. :)

Here’s how it works:

Objective: To be the first TWO people to answer all three questions and post the correct answers in my comment section.

Why: I personally dig scavenger hunts (get it? dig? hehe) and I thought it would be fun to host something like this to not only give away some of the books I have lying around here, but to introduce visitors to new bloggers as well. See? A win-win situation. :)

Winners: The winners get to pick one book from my inventory. First person to post his/her answers gets first choice, the second person to post his/her answers gets second choice.

Rules: Click on the links provided and answer all three questions. The first TWO people to post their answers in the comment section wins. Answers don’t have to be exact but pretty darn close. The final determination of answers is up to my discretion. The answers should be on the front page of the blogs. (In other words, you shouldn’t have to go back several pages to find the answer, but they won’t necessarily be in the FIRST entry either). No peeking! I mean, you could peek at someone else’s answer if you wanted to, but why spoil the fun? :D

Hunt!

Questions: (I chose these blogs from my blogroll)

1. Cranky old Auntie Suebob from Red Stapler lists six things her perfect parents taught her. Please tell me what number five is. (Feel free to copy and paste)

-

2. Zellmer talks about a birthday party she went to over at The Z Files. What happened to Z when she tried to make friends with another little girl? (Poor little Z :( )

-

3. White Trash Mom has a rather unusual experience at Sears. A disgruntled employee begins having a fit right in the middle of the store. Why is the employee upset AND what happens to the disgruntled employee at the end? (I need two answers, please).

Good Luck!

2. Busy Animals Board Book Series

With three cats and a dog in our house, we are definitely animal lovers, and my daughter, who will turn one in just a couple of weeks, absolutely loves our animals. She also loves Tricycle Press's Busy Animal Board Books.

We own four of the eight books in the series:
  • Busy Kitties, by John Schindel, photography by Sean Franzen
  • Busy Penguins, by John Schindel, photography by Jonathan Chester
  • Busy Doggies, by John Schindel, photography by Beverly Sparks
  • Busy Monkeys, by John Schindel, photography by Luiz Claudio Marigo

Each page in the book features a full-color photographs of an animal(s) demonstrating the action word on the page that will help your child build vocabulary. For example, in the Busy Kitties book, we see "Kitty hissing/ Kitty kissing/ Kitty running/ Kitty sunning" and more.

My daughter is fascinated by the photographs in these sturdy books and just sits there and smiles as she flips the pages. I also appreciate that they will introduce her to other animals, like monkeys and penguins, that she doesn't have the chance to see in their natural habitats.

Other books in the series that we're adding to our wish list include:

These would all make a great addition to your young child's library.

3. Internet Scavenger Hunt - #15

Congratulations Judy from Welcome to my World of Dreams. Judy wins one of the three books listed below! Thanks for playing, Judy!

I haven’t done one of these in a long time! Why am I doing one now? Because I’m an idiot. I know, not exactly earth-shattering news, right? But let me explain: I was going through my bookcase the other day when I noticed not one …

not two …

but THREE duplicate books! WTF?! What a doofus. I need to pay more attention to the books I have, sheesh.

Okay, here we go!

This hunt’s treasure: Winner gets to choose from the following three books:

1. null 2. null 3. null

1. Tangled Up in Daydreams by Rebecca Bloom
2. Match Game by Beverly Brandt
3. The Love of a D-Girl by Chris Dyer

Why: Because I’m a dork and don’t keep track of what books I already own. (Grr)

Plus, it’s a chance to visit bloggers you might not have visited normally. :D

Objective: To be the first one to answer all three questions and post the correct answers in my comment section.

Winner: Receives prize indicated above.

Rules: Click on the links provided and answer all three questions. The first person to post their answers in the comment section wins. Answers don’t have to be exact but pretty darn close. Questions: (I chose these blogs from the Blogger Chicks blogroll)

1. Kim, from Everyone Else is Doing It, lists six children warning labels - name two, please.

2. Groovy Lady answers 13 meme questions - what is her answer to this question: Is there somebody you wish you could go back and apologize to? (Paraphrasing is okay, or copy and paste, your decision).

3. Believer in Balance posts a play-by-play of any given day, (which is absolutely hilarious, I might add). The kids are crying in stereo. Frustrated and at her wit’s end, what does Believer in Balance yell at Feisty Girl in the 6:18 p.m. entry?

Good Luck!
