Just what makes that little ol’ ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant
But he’s got high hopes… he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie in the sky hopes
So any time you’re getting low
‘Stead of letting go,
Just remember that ant.
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant.

I've been up since 2 in the morning and haven't been able to sleep.
All I could think about was what it must be like, to be Barack Obama, taking charge on this day. For his family, most particularly his daughters, whose lives are forever changed.
And what what it must be like to be George Bush, leaving his legacy behind.
Two different men, two different paths, and yet meeting today. One to leave office, the other to take his place.
It's sunny in Washington, D.C. (at least it looks like it is on tv) and the crowds are cheering! Waving, cheering, chanting and ever hopeful.
I am grateful to witness this momentous event. Tissues are at hand and hope is in my heart.
May God be with these two families as they transition in their new lives. And for our nation, weary from our troubles and troubled with an uncertain future, may God bless and protect America.
President Obama, my hope is with you.
When I was in college, I went through a phase where I wanted to become a biomedical engineer and design neat devices that would bring mobility to the disabled. This idea fell through the cracks when I realized the sciences would be far better off without me in it.
In a strange turn of events, I sometimes feel guilty for not pursuing an engineering degree. You see, my sister has struggled with a devastating chronic illness, dermatomyositis, for many years. She has been in a wheelchair for over three years and requires daily assistance.
Which is why I am so excited about this news. An electronic device, called the ReWalk by Argo Medical Technologies of Israel, is slated for commercial sale in 2010 for about the same cost as high end wheelchairs or a car-- about $20,000. But, the price of freedom...and dignity...may be well worth it, for those who can afford it.
Want to see how this works? You can read more about ReWalk and see a video of a man who has been in a wheelchair for 20 years using this. Then go here to see how this military application has been reworked to help civilians. Talk about science fiction coming to life!
Right now this device is being tested in Israel, at the Tel Aviv's Sheba Medical Centre. Then it will be tested at the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute in Pennsylvania.
I hope that this time will encourage more of us to be active participants in changing things for the better. Obama isn't perfect, but I think this president will actually listen to us when we have dissenting opinions.
You're so right, Farida. I think President Obama will listen to us.
I understand how you feel. I just wish I was able to explain my emotions as well.
Vivian,I felt like keeping my kids home to watch it with me! I tivoed it instead. I'll probably cry again when I watch it with them later. So much joy and hope that man can inspire -- his speeches are incredible. I know he' not perfect, but I think he's very smart and he's surrounded himself with intelligent people. I'm looking forward to the next four years.
Beautifully put!And amen to what Farida said, too.Happy inauguration day!
I couldn't get any work done on inauguration day...I was so excited.
