Kensington Publishing, an independent publisher that has been in business for 40 years, has signed a five-year expanded sales and distribution agreement with Penguin Random House Publisher Services.
Under the terms of the deal, Penguin Random House will continue to distribute books from the independent publisher and will expand its partnership to take advantage of additional Penguin Random House’s sales and distribution services.
“Having our global print and digital sales all under one roof will give us greater control of our business, while Kensington will continue to sell the wholesalers, mass merchandisers and book jobbers, as we have in years past,” stated Steven Zacharius, President and CEO of Kensington Publishing Corp. “This combination of efforts will take our company to a new level in the industry.”

Chris Grimm has been hired as director of sales at Kensington Publishing Corp. He will report to CEO Steven Zacharius.
In Grimm's new role, he will manage and oversee the sales department. The team works on to sell the 500 hardcover, trade paperback and mass market titles that the company publishes on a yearly basis.
Here's more from the press release: "Chris has been at Globe Pequot since 2006, most recently as VP of Sales. In 2013 he won the B&N Rep of the Year Award for mid-sized publishers. He started at Globe Pequot as Director of Field Sales, and was promoted to Director of National Accounts, handling: BGI, Ingram, the Clubs and B&N. Prior to working at Globe he was at Simon & Schuster for several years as a Director of National Accounts."
