Aside from having 52 variant covers for state seal lovers, we haven't talked much about the new JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA book by Geoff Johns and David Finch and how it differs from JUSTICE LEGAUE by Johns and other people. Will it be set in America? Will there be spiders? Is Airwave in the team?
ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….huh?..wha?….ooh, let me guess, grim and gritty team in the New DC52. ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz
I wonder that about every DC book lately: “What the hell are they doing? Do they really think this is good?”
I was going to say, “That’s what I’ve been thinking the whole time! Wakka Wakka!” but the first two more or less beat me to it.
aka Justice League Unlimited…
Reading this, I get the overwhelming feeling that preorders for the first issue weren’t quite what DC was hoping for. Which is strange because there were over 52 variants available.
I like Johns and this book looks intriguing, but I really think he should move on from GL. The multi-coloured Lanterns are getting tiresome and Simon Baz showed me that he’s close to jumping the shark if he hasn’t already.
“We’ve got it planned out through 2013 and beyond.” Really, does anyone believe that about any DC book, even when the CCO is writing it? Here’s a safer bet–it will be one of the only DC books to miss a shipping date this year.
Is this the New 52 “Extreme Justice” or “Justice League Task Force?” I can’t keep up with these relaunches because there’s still so many bad 90s ideas for them to work through.
if only David Finch wasn’t on art. That guy is blah.
Team looks fun, but it’s going to be damn ugly till Finch decides he can’t handle monthly duties.
“When I was thinking about whether or not a second Justice League title would work, essentially, I wanted to make sure that if I was going to write another team book it was had it’s own point of view, its own purpose both creatively and in the bigger DC Universe”
So then what did you consider Justice League International, if not a 2nd Justice League title?
“People will ‘wonder what the hell we are doing.’”
We already know what you’re doing. Same thing you do every night Pinky. Excessive grimdark and desperate attempts to recreate the 90′s.
Business as usual.
Brad, “jumping the shark” doesn’t mean what you think it means.
This looks awful. Why can’t they let this book die? Movie in the works?
