Hmmm, I guess May wasn’t exactly explained, was she? I think you’ll appreciate her more once you find out her backstory.
I do not care for the first few books (but you already know that), but I hope that you enjoy them.
As I understand it, she’s the Toby who “died” before Amandine changed her blood? At one point Toby mentions that one of the night-haunts used to have May’s face.
