This is not part of the fabric collection, just another Jive Cats illustration I did. There is final art based on this drawing. Maybe I'll post it some time..
Here's a peek at the beginning sketches for the feature pattern. This is a really loose sketch but it is fun to see things half-done and then in a completed state, isn't it?
Several of the cats are the same little cats and even in the same places. Some of them have been switched out for other cats. (Note: The top sketch is all gents, while the below final is now co-ed!)
Voila! Cats!
Happy Friday. (More coffee, please!)
Just a little doodle of a city kitty under the sea.
Here's a little jazzy Jazz Cat. I've always thought of the
color of
Jazz to be blue. How about you?
I know blue is the
obvious choice for the
Blues... but can't the Blues share?
(Or, do you think Purple is more fitting?)
Just having a little fun in Photoshop.
Here is the original sketch.
The weekend is a really good time to... have a little fun with your blog template! :D So, what do you think of my new look? I'm trying out blogger's new
Dynamic Views.
I'm pretty happy about the new offerings. There's lots of ways (7, if you're counting) to keep your blog looking fresh and fun! You can check out all the latest on the new templates at the
Blogger Buzz blog.
So.. aside from cleaning up my blog template a bit, I'm going to take part in a few of the activities listed above! I will draw, I will finish a work project
(which is not listed above... hmmm..) I will have a nice lunch or brunch, I
already saw a movie
(21 Jump Street, and I highly recommend it. I'm being completely honest! it is GREAT!), I will sleep, do errands, draw, have dog time, watch a video, and maybe even try to finish the (hilarious)
book I am reading. Is all that asking too much? Hmm... maybe, we'll see!
What are you doing this weekend?
I'm drawing dogs today.
Can you guess which breed this is?
So "A Tail A Day" is something that has been on my mind for awhile, but I'm not so organized that I am beginning it and/or ending it on a specific date, or committing to do it for a set number of days or months... And, as of this writing, I am actually not quite sure WHY I am so compelled to pull this out of my bag of tricks NOW. I mean, Surtex is literally
right around the corner. PLUS I have client work. PLUS I am in limbo on a couple awesome things. Plus, I have a day job. Yes folks, I've lost my marbs.
This is something I've wanted to do for a long time though. I own the domain name and have for at least a year, maybe two.. I just never got around to starting it. So I figure, I should begin, at least. And then, who knows. Roll with it.
The criteria is to post a piece of visual art to my blog every day, containing a character with a tail. It does not matter if it is a picture drawn with pencil, a completely finished piece of art, a photo of a hand shadow, or macaroni glued to a paper plate. It just must be a character with a tail. (And to add further wiggle room to this whole scenario, the tail
does not even have to be showing! That's right: Close-ups with no tail are A-O.K.)
The "....A Day" part of the equation is really just there to just keep me uber-challenged. So, if I don't live up to the "a day" part, please forgive me. But I believe that just having "...A Day" in the title there will 1) inspire (taunt) me to post with a 'committed regularity' (
if not actually EVERY DAY) and 2) it's plain catchy!
Other than that, there is NO rules. (Less rules, more fun.)
Wouldn't it be cool if I posted every actual day? Do you think I can do it?
Morning Kathy! Oh My you are so committed...or should I say you should BE committed! haha! (kidding) T thought a TAIL a day might be a "TALE" a day with a story....maybe a tail with a tale. ok, i may have had too much coffee....
Monica, smart lsdy! I am on the same page with that. Maybe I also had "TALE" in my mind too.. Because last night, as I was thinking about this, I realized that the ATAD posts are the perfect catalyst to tell different stories I want to tell. Not EVERY day, but some times I just can't help myself. :D
Well, earlier this year, I committed to making one quilt block a day, and sometimes I end up making all 7 for the week in the space of a couple days, but . . . so far I'm ahead, so just saying I'd do it has me more motivated. I think it's worth a shot, and you might actually be surprised how well it goes! Good luck.
Shelly that is so motivating! Big congratulations on your quilt blocks!! I am hoping this is will prove to be the perfect level of 'motivational' and 'flexibility' for me :D
