I don't like doing laundry either! It was a tough contestant for my most hated chore. But since I live alone there isn't much of it and I only do it every 2-3 weeks.

Foods you wish you could eat and never gain a pound? brownies (they are my weakness), chewy chocolate chip cookies, and oreos drowned in a glass of soymilk. My real list would consist of foods I wish I could eat, but I can't because I'm allergic...like icecream, eggs, and shellfish! I miss eating stuffed crab.:(
Things in my purse? 3 check books, wallet, 2 pens, pocket calendar,2 tubes of chapstick,3 key rings with a bunch of keys, and papers on my new van.
Movies you would never want to see again? Any of the scary movies I watched when I was younger! (Freddie movies and Jason movies)
The movie you mentioned reminded me of when I was in college. My biology professor was always talking about alien life and how she could not wait for them to make contact. One day I turned to her and asked, "Have you SEEN the movie Signs? If there is anything out there, we definitely don't want them making contact!" That movie freaked me out too!

If Only with Jennifer Love Hewitt, 17 Again with Zac Efron, The Cutting Edge (Chasing the Dream) with Matt Lanter, Becoming Jane, Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth, and Bella with Eduardo Versastegui.

How could I forget bacon, I love bacon! Signs was very scary for me too, I remember I watched it with my two cousins in my house one night and we were so scared.

So want to read Siege and Storm, Requium, and Scent of Magic. My library has Requium and Scent of Magic so I should be able to read those soon.

I love all your food choices except for bacon. I'm a vegetarian. And so wish I didn't have to watch what I eat everyday.

I always feel a bit conflicted about the Twilight movies (though the first one is definitely bad, and I haven't seen BD2). And I thought Signs was interesting - especially because my sister was freaking out next to me and I didn't find it very scary at all XD

I've been really enjoying these! That's the same saying my mom always used and I said I would never used. That's why you should never say never since it has slipped out a few times to my own kids. :)

Advice: You are allowed to write garbage. This why there are first drafts. Get it all out of you before you try to mold it into something palatable. If you think of a brilliant new idea halfway through, do NOT go back and change what you had. Make a note on your draft and proceed from that point as if you had used that idea from the beginning.

A family tradition in my home is Sauce Sundays. We always have pasta. A tradition in the hubbys' Italian household that got passed onto me 12 years ago.
Favorite late time snack or guilty pleasure is cereal. Don't know why, but I love me some honey nut O's before bed... lol...

I know what you mean about Ice Cream at night. My husband goes on a "no ice cream" diet and loses 5 pounds without doing anything else. Wish I could do the same. I like the hike idea for New Years. Where do you live? We'd get wet since it rains so much around here in January.

We live in Southern Utah and it us usually cool but clear here on New Year's Day. A sweatshirt is a must but makes for a great "healthy" start to the new year. If it was raining we'd stay inside.

I like to curl up too. The past few days have been raining here so I've been pretty lazy and constantly trying to find the time to snuggle up to read.

It's been rainy here to but I've got NO reading done ;(

I've spent 10+ hours at my computer trying to get caught up and I still have 44 emails to take care of and reply to.

I actually have not used audiobooks yet but I might try sometime soon. It would help to do something else while listening to the story.

I'm late this week but I'm not at home. I don't listen to music much either. I used to when I was in high school but not anymore. Only if I'm alone and driving somewhere.

I don't have a top 5. I have 700 songs on my iPod and play whatever I'm in the mood for. Yesterday it started with Mozart and ended with Heart. You see my dilemma...
I read a minimum of an hour a day. My own personal goal.
The last thing I Googled was the word dilemna. Had to be sure to use the correct word above. Turns out I was wrong in my choice, and am thankful I checked. I get the two mixed up as they mean close to the same thing.
My favorite place to visit in the whole world is Niagara-on-the-Lake. Go during the Christmas season and you'll understand why.
I spend a rainy day with a book in hand. Cliché, but true.

In a week? Hmmm... depends on the week and the books I'm in to... probably in the 10-12 hours range on average.

Not much of a traveler. Generally speaking, I love the water. And though I am sooooooo not an urbanite, I LOVE Chicago. Las Vegas was fun too. Travelling enjoyment depends more on the companions than the destination.

What is your favorite way to spend a rainy day?

Depends on my mood and the kind of rainy day. If it's warm enough, I go play in the rain. If it's too cold, then reading, video games, board games, cooking, and a wide variety of other things take up my time. Reading is probably my favorite though.

Olive garden is nice but i recently discovered a place here called Brixx pizza, great italian food! i never found a place that puts goat cheese on thier pizza, its delicious!

Favorite restaurant? Mine is macayos. I love their tortilla soup. I love mexican food.

What is your view on self publishing? I don't have a problem with it as long as you said, it's done well.

How do you feel about banned books? Do you have a favorite? Some books don't belong on every shelf..but I don't think books should be banned from adults. We should be able to make up our own minds as to what books we want to read. Not sure I have a favorite.

Are you for or against books being made into movies? I like books being made into movies. I liked the twilight books but I like the movies much better. I still think The silence of the Lambs book was better than the movie.

This is pretty cool. Here are my answers:

Favorite restaurant? Don't really have a fave anymore. Red Lobster used to be my fave but I've fallen in love with hibachi-styled dining with a great chef putting on a show.

What is your view on self publishing? As someone who has self-published, I love it. It's a LOT of work because I want my product to be as professional as a traditionally published novel, but there are, unfortunately, a lot of people who just push out anything unedited, unchecked or unrevised.

How do you feel about banned books? Do you have a favorite? Speak is a banned book I haven't read yet but I hope to. Some topics should written about and discussed. Once it crosses a certain pornographic line, there's a different shelf I may expect for it to go. But there is the rub. Who's to say what that line is?

Are you for or against books being made into movies? I'm for books being made into movies. The book is usually better but it's nicer to see a variety of movies book inspired instead of reboot number three of the same movie.

Top 3 things on your bucket list? Work on my debts is the crux of my bucket list lol!

This is a great meme. I love Olive Garden. Ravioli di Portobello is my favorite. And, I agree with you on self-published books and banned books. So many people rush to self-publish and so much of it is bad. It makes it harder for the truly good works to be noticed. I don't think any book should be banned, but every book does not belong on every shelf.

I love red and green, though not together.... not sure why everything Christmas has it either, but it's cool. My favorite carol is It Came Upon The Midnight Clear, it's more gospel than carol and I like that. Materialistically I don't know what I want, really whatever I get is fine, I'll be grateful. Since losing my dad, step-dad, grandfather, brother and a few friends along the way, Christmas is not about what I want but about spending time with the people that I have left. So I guess what I want is for everyone to be happy. I don't have a favorite Christmas treat. I do eat heartily through the holidays and I love it all, but faves, nope.

Here's my answer to your coke or pepsi question:
As a rule I don't drink soda either. I might get some special at a restaurant but usually stay away from it. We drink WAY too much sugary juice though. Trying to get it down to just apple and orange juice. (ps. I HATE the flavour of both coke and pepsi, but if I had to choose, I'd be a pepsi person)

I'm 57 and people always think I'm younger too. People are usually surprised when they find out I wrote a book. I don't drink pop either anymore--water, milk and V8 juice but I prefer Pepsi over Coke. Don't like swimming so would stay on the beach most likely.

I had to laugh about your first one, Kathy, because that is mine as well. I was talking to someone the other day where I was waiting in line for quite some time and we found we had a lot in common - church-wise and where he is currently going to college. I said I graduated from there ten years ago and he was shocked stating he thought I was ten years younger than I am. Well, at least I'm getting out of the teens now, which is good since I've got four kids. :)

I love the beach if I'm not getting in the water, but the pool if I am.

Oh the things I could do. . . read or watch a movie or make something (without being interrupted is heavenly).

I agree with you on that first question - my favorite foods, family and a couple of good books too! Everyone should read The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans! The one super power I wish I had sometimes is to be able to selectively read minds - I know that it is rude and an invasion of privacy, but it would be so much easier to help and understand, especially when I am just about to lost my patience, lol! Oh my goodness, can't I have BOTH Harry and Edward? Please?! At the moment, I just can't choose between them... I am a huge fan of Snape too, so I guess I will have to go with Harry on this one ;) and lastly, GUM! Can't live without the stuff! and the mintier the better :)

I'm right there with you on the first, second, and third answers! I love Harry Potter, but Twilight takes the cake for me. And I'm an Altiods-loving fool! Never go anywhere without them. :)

I don't think I would give up sleep though. Sleep is sooooo wonderful. I am enamored with sleep. So, for a superpower I would choose speed reading, super memory, being The Flash (goodbye exercise!) or flying. I would LOVE to fly. Well...being like The Flash would include speed reading...

Yep, The Flash superpower it is! Eat all you can, super fast, and then time for sleep. :D

I only read Twilight once, but I probably would again if I had the time. As for rain, I like warm rain, but not cold rain!

One of my many nicknames over the year was "Scratch". When I would get nervous in Jr. High, I would scratch my head like I was thinking, so one of the teachers called me scratch and it stuck for about 5 years.

I have a Kindle, my daughter had a Nook. She is not a reader so I bribed her. If she read 30 minutes 30 days in a row without missing a day I would buy her a Nook. (She really wanted one). She read 30 day without missing a day so I bought her the Nook. She then stopped reading so I took it away and it is now mine until she earns it back.
