To celebrate the release of Facing the Mountain in Canada I'm posting some pictures of some of the origins of the story - which I'll be talking about on Cheryl Rainfield's blog on Monday/Tuesday. I did a similar post when it was released as Raven's Mountain in Australia last February - I used Polyvore.com then, which I found interesting but a bit frustrating, trying to find the right images: this time they're my own photographs of things that have sparked thoughts.

Loved you pictures Wendy, no wonder you were inspired.

Nice pictures. It's so great to have memories and share them with people. I have very few pictures with my father as we lost most of them in a basement flood. Inspiration often comes from pictures for me as well. ~ Nathalie
That's so sad, Nathalie. My parents lost all their photos when I was a baby, and I know what grief that still causes them. They were the first thing I packed when preparing to evacuate from bushfires a few years ago! (Then I digitalised special ones & stored online.)
