1. Love sharing my Creative Life with you ~ but my blog was in trouble. However after many bandaids ~ Susanne Gervay’s Blog is Back!!!!!

There’s so much news too. Have to get my photos in order 1st as lost them too- so just a quick entry because my son and bullying’s on my mind.

I loved speaking at All Saints -  the authors, creators, teachers, kids … it was about friendship, sharing story, inspiring young people and old.  I came home to beautiful fan mail and comments from All Saints.

I was moved when a parent-teacher sought me out after my talk on I AM JACK & School Bullying. She said that after hearing me speak, she’d shared time with her son and they’d talked about bullying in a real way.

TEARY moment for me – because I’d been there with my son bullied and he couldn’t get me to hear him.

Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People is performing I AM JACK at a theatre in the Seymour , Sydney.

Dates: October 26 – November 4th.

Bookings: [email protected]; ph: 02 9351 7938

If you have a chance check out the youtube preview of Monkey Baa’s on my youtube channel:  www.youtube.com/user/sgervay

Monkey baa is also performing Duncan Ball’s joyous Emily Eyefinger – touring starts in July.

2. International Children’s Illustrator Mike Spoor Touring Oz

Mike Spoor makes characters come alive!

His Dinasaur Cove series published by Oxford Uni Press is especially huge in the UK.

Mike’s gorgeous illustration of Watch Duck is in the Hughenden Reading Room, together with the works of award winning illustrators including Sarah Davis, Nina Rycroft, Frane Lessac, Donna Rawings and the academy award winning illustrator Shan Tan.

I was so happy to meet Mike and asked him to illustrate a new DUCK for me. Even though he had heaps of talks at All Saints Festival he made the time to create my DUCK. Thankyou Mike.

Here’s what Mike did:-

Check the illustration carefully and find DUCK – Mike did this for the illustrator page at ALL SAINTS Literature Festival.

Soooooo……………. excited about My DUCK!!!!!!!!!!

3. Authors at Work & Play in the Green Room at All Saints Litfest Perth

Authors Meg McKinlay and A.J. Betts ham it up – at work – in Green Room at All Saints Festival.

Boor Pryor thinks it’s all funny. He’s been wowing the kids with his digeridoo and storytelling.

Karen Tayleur is a cutting edge YA author – her last novel 6 was just published by Black Dog Books. Mucking around in the Green Room.

Sally Carbon Olympic Hockey team gold medallist for Australia writes non fiction for kids on sport ‘I Want to be an Olympian’ is close to home.
