So I´m back!!! (I didn´t take that long this time ha???) I´m going to explain myself in this post. When I moved to Montreal I had to leave almost all my stuff in México, and when I say almost all, is really almost all... among the stuff I left behind were my dear books... and among them were my dearest children book collection. I moved once before from New York to México and in that trip I also had to leave behind my stuff... there are 16 boxes of books kept in a storage room somewhere in Manhattan with my oh so dearest children books collection. So that´s the story of my life... I´ve been moving around as a Gypsy and since Airlines fares are increasing their fares and lowering the kilos allowed in my suitcase it´s been impossible for me to be a Nomad with my children books. Hola, les cuento que con eso de que se me ha dado por andar de costurera y tan atareada me senti con la necesidad de crear un espacio justo para compartir mi trabajo y su proceso, y como acá se habla sólo de ilustración infantil y no quisiera que cambiara, decidí abrir un "Atelier" alterno para dicho motivo.... jejeje

Hola a todos!!! La ausencia tiene una muy buena razón… estoy en plena mudanza!!! Si, me voy a vivir a Montreal!!! Estoy enamorada y feliz!!! Y ahora mas con la novedad de que pusieron a una de mis monas en esta revista en el mes de diciembre!!! *Small Magazine, que chula se ve no???

Hello everybody!!! I’ve haven’t been around for a very good reason… I’m moving!!! Yes, I’m going to move to Montreal!!! I’m in love and very happy!!! And now with the good news that one of my dolls was in this magazine on its December issue!!!! Small Magazine, isn’t she cute???
Well… so that it is, as soon as I’m in my new home I’ll be back stronger than ever, with many wonderful books and news. I’ve decided to quit my job and dedicate my time 100% to my paintings, illustrations and dolls… wish me luck in this new adventure!!! Will come back very soooooooon!!!!!

Ellas son la razón por la que no he escrito últimamente. Una empresa me encargo 50 muñecas para sus regalos empresariales de fin de ano y justo ayer les entregue las primeras 27!!!! Estoy muy emocionada por este pedido y muy contenta, aunque aquí entre nos muy ocupada y con un poco de preocupación por entregarlas todas a tiempo.
Los colores son los colores de 2 divisiones de esta empresa y es por eso que unas son moradas y otras rojas con blanco!!!!
Espero terminar pronto con esto y regresar mas seguido!!!!!!! Que les parecen????

They are the reasons why I haven’t been around for a while lately. A company asked me for 50 dolls to give as a gift to their clients this ending year and just yesterday I delivered the first 27!!!! I’m very excited and happy about this, although between us a little bit stressed out to make them all on time.
The colors are the colors of the 2 divisions of the company; one is purple and the other red and white!!!
I hope I can finish them soon and come back to my blogs!!!! So, what do you think of my dolls!???

Y les presento a mi tarjeta viajera! Esta es una cosa esplendorosa que se le ocurrió a Yolanda de “Colectivo Satélite” en donde ella manda una tarjeta con una imagen cualquiera que ella dibuja a alguien que le quiera añadir algo más, y ese alguien le añade algo y se la manda a otro alguien que quiera añadirle algo más y así hasta que ya no se pueda o no se quiera… En mi caso participe en la tarjeta numero 3. Y esta ha sido la evolución de la misma… hasta mi participación, así que ahora yo lanzo la pregunta “Quien quiere continuar???”.
Lo que haré será esperar una semana, para que aquellos que quieran hacerlo me dejen su nombre en los comentarios y haré una rifa el proximo lunes, como bien hizo Sira antes que yo y donde yo salí ganadora!
Una vez que reciban la tarjeta, la alteran haciéndole lo que Uds. quieran y escanean el resultado para mandarlo a Yolanda y después se lo mandan a quien quiera ser el siguiente!
Me encanto participar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! muchas gracias!
Y bien…. Quien quiere seguirle???

I introduce you to my travelling card! This is a great idea from Yolanda and “Colectivo Satelite”. The thing is that she sends a card with a simple image she draws on it to someone who will add another thing *whatever she or he wants* to the card, that new someone will send the new altered card to a new someone who wants to take part in the evolution of the card and he or she will add something else and so on until the card is full!!!! In my particular case I participated in the card no. 3 and here I show you the evolution of it…. until mine, so now is my turn to ask, who wants to be next????
I will wait for a week so all of you who wants to be the next one will leave you name in the comments of this post and I will randomly choose a name next Monday from the bunch, like Sira did before me and where I got winner!
Once you get the card, you add anything you want and scan the result to send it to Yolanda , and then send the card to someone who wants to be next!!!!
I really enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks a lot!
So…. Who wants to be next???

Hola a todos! Les pido una gran disculpa por esta larga ausencia, tuve unos meses dificiles en muchos sentidos pero estoy de vuelta. La proxima semana regreso ya en forma a compartir con todos uds. cosas nuevas que me han sucedido y por supuesto un sin fin de ilustraciones infantiles, libros, etc...

Hello to everybody! I apologize for not being around for such a long time, I had some difficult months in many ways, but I'm finally back. Next week I'll be back posting and sharing a lot of new things that are happening to me as well as a bunch of beautiful children illustrations, books, etc...

Hola a todos! Esta vez les tengo un sitio muy especial. Es de una librería en la ciudad de Nueva York: “Books of Wonder”. Esta es una librería especializada en libros para niños, tienen de todo pero la sección que más me gusta es la de los libros antiguos.
La remodelaron hace poco y quedó espectacular! Para todos aquellos que vayan de visita por esta ciudad, no se pierdan la oportunidad de pasarse un ratito en este lugar tan especial para todos los amantes de los libros infantiles. Y para aquellos que no puedan, vean su sitio que esta muy completo!

roughout the novel Huckleberry Finn tells a series of lies about his family. For example, he tells the woman who feeds him in Chapter 11 that his name is “Sarah Williams” and that his/her “mother’s down sick, and out of money and everything…” (52).
Later, in Chapter 16 Huck leads two men in a skiff on the river to believe that he is traveling with his family and that they are sick with small-pox. “…because it’s pap that’s there, and maybe you’d help me tow the raft ashore where the light is. He’s sick–and so is mam and Mary Ann” (83).

jo como te comprendo, yo en el piso no tengo espacio y casi todos mis libros se encuentran en casa de mi madre...guardo uno con especial cariño "el maravilloso viaje de nils holgersson a traves de suecia" con unas hermosas ilustraciones de Joaquín Guimerá. Bicos y suerte :)
cuanto me alegro de esta decisión y más después de leer lo que comentas más abajo.
Me alegro mucho de que este espacio rojo como tú dices siga vivo. Me gustan tus elecciones y opiniones y como haces que descubramos nuevos libros e ilustradores y esa ilusión de ser ilustrador de la que hablas y con la que muchos también soñamos.
Por cierto ese cuento también me le contaban de pequeña y creo recordar que el lobo iba y venía varias veces intentando entrar, poniendose harina en la pata,comiendo muchos huevos para afinar la voz...., curioso esto de los cuentos orales y sus adaptaciones. También recuerdo que en la versión que me contaban el cabritillo pequeño se salvó porque se escondió en un reloj. La mamá llegó a casa y el la contó lo sucedido, entonces fueron en busca del lobo que dormia junto al río, allí la mamá cabra le abrió la barriga, sacó a los cabritillos y se la llenó de piedras, cuando despertó y fue a beber, el peso le vencío y fue a parar al fondo del río donde se ahogó.
Ya ves, historias así hoy en día ya no se cuentan, al menos con estos finales, se tiende a dulcificar tanto los cuentos que me parecen hasta raros. Pero bueno eso es otra historia.
Que me alegro de tu vuelta Norma, que sigas con este blog y con tus muñecas, que las cosas que nos hacen felices no son un pesar.
