2. The Wacky World of Amazon

Even though I don't buy hardly any books from Amazon (although I have recently bought a pedometer, magazine subscriptions, and some very nice cookware), I do look at Amazon. It's the crack pipe of the author set.

So I noticed this about Shock Point today:

#1 in Books > Mystery & Thrillers > Authors, A-Z > ( H ) > Henry, April.
(That makes sense. It's my latest book. And while there are many April Henrys, I am the only published one that I know of)
#8 in Books > Teens > Literature & Fiction > Suspense
(That makes sense. It's a thriller.)
#17 in Books > Children's Books > Science, Nature & How It Works > Fiction
(huh? Where is the science and nature? Learning a little bit about psychiatric drugs - although my editor made me cut out some of the stuff on left hand and right hand molecules? Cassie's trek across the Mexican desert? Someone being shot with a taser? Whatever my book is, it ain't science. It's not Flotsam or Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi: A Math Adventure, some of the others on the list.)
