Yet, when the ability to hear these everyday sounds is taken away--as in Marsha Engle's case--we are humbly reminded of their value. As she was slowly losing her hearing, Marsha hired professional photographer William Huber to capture these ordinary sounds in stunning photographs, and they have collected them here in this unique and breathtaking book for both the hearing and hearing impaired to enjoy. 100 Sounds I Wish I Could Hear is a tribute to the beauty of hearing and a gentle reminder to the hearing world to listen to and appreciate everyday sounds.
I have just finished the preliminary sketches for her second book that I would love to tell you all about, but then I would have to kill you, as I have signed a confidentiality agreement to keep my big pie hole shut. This is the most fun I've had not talking in a long time! ;-)
