2. Game of Thrones Gets Second Season After One Episode

After just a single episode, HBO has ordered a second season of its adaptation of Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. According to the release, the first show counted a gross audience of 4.2 million viewers.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo explained in the release: “We are delighted by the way David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have brought George R.R. Martin’s amazing book series to the screen, and thrilled by the support of the media and our viewers … This is the continuation of an exciting creative partnership.”
