1. You Can't Scare Me! by R.L Stine

Eddie is afraid of things and Courtney trys to scare him and make him look like a total wimp in front of everyone he knows. But Eddie wants to pay her back he and his friends try everything but Courtney just makes them get in trouble. Then Eddie has a perfect plan because now he knows that Courtney believes in a rumor that has been going on for years about the mud monsters that live in Muddy Creek but when they go there it's not good that Eddie doesn't believe in them because it could be a fact...

What I like about the story is that it is like it is telling you that monsters could of lived many many many years ago and monsters could be living now. This story is like How to kill a Monster and Stay Out Of The Basement. You will like this if you like monster stories and monster legends.

2. A LOVELY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

I'm freshly home from church today and ready for a nice warm day. The blistering sun of a couple weeks ago has, little by little, cooled to a pleasant, late summer warmth.

We had a lovely day at the beach on Friday, and I can't quite convince myself not to go back again this coming week. Maybe just for a few hours on Tuesday or Friday. We'll see....

We had a friendly seagull visit us for awhile on Friday....

Then he called in the rest of his friends and it got too creepy, so, unfortunately, I was compelled to have my daughter give them a little spook. Just enough to cause them to fly a couple of feet to our right.

I'm so happy that I was able to get 26 greeting cards approved for my new "card boutique". Some have verses and some are blank. If you have a chance, I would truly appreciate it if you could stop by my shop and have a look. AND....please, let me know what you think. Would you buy such quirky cards?

This is where my cards can be found: Kim's Card Boutique.

Some of the cards are collages and some are photos. I have two pages up, so when you've finished looking at the first page, remember to click on next at the bottom of the page so you can see all the cards.

Well, I'm off for the day. My mom just celebrated her 80th birthday on September 4th and we're taking her to The Outback for a belated birthday celebration.

Hope this gorgeous Sunday afternoon finds you blessed and content.

Until Next Time:

3. A LOST HEART

Good Morning:

Here it is, late August. It's gloomy today, unusually gloomy. The kind of late summer morning that is thick with California smog. These hazy, late summer mornings are a sad reminder that winter is around the corner. The next holiday is Labor Day, the official end of summer. The thought of the short and dark days of the winter ahead sends shivers up my spine. I am finding it impossible to enjoy these last few summer days due to the almost constant dread of the on-coming winter.

We went to the beach yesterday ~

but we found the same hazy thickness there that we tried to escape from at home. Although, given the choice, I would much rather sit at the beach entangled in gloom and haze than to be home, in the choking desert, entangled in gloom and haze.

So, here I am, struggling to find lightness, but all I can find is the darkness of the inevitable winter...creeping up from behind. Devouring the light of day and filling life with darkness. Nothing left but the hope of on-coming springtime.

I have tried several times to sit at my desk and finish a collage, but no such luck. I can't seem to concentrate, there's no motivation. I started this piece several months ago ~

yet, still it sits, unfinished. Sometimes, I can almost hear it calling my name, hoping to see for itself what it will look like as a finished product. It awaits patiently, maybe even hopeful that someday soon, I'll sit and give it the attention that it needs. I want to...I truly do!! In my head, I am ready to work and create, but in my heart, there is only the dread of on-coming winter.

4. Packing For The Beach and Two New Collages On Etsy

Good Morning:

I'm in for a busy day...lots of running around to do. I'm going to the beach tomorrow with my daughter and a caravan of friends, so today will be set aside for shopping and packing.

As unusual as it may be, this is our first time to the beach this summer. I'm so looking forward to just being there. No doorbell to answer, no phones ringing off the hook. My sanctuary, my quiet hideaway.

But ~ today will be busy and I need to get going. I've got 9 ACEO collage prints to pack and send off, prescriptions to drop off to my mom and my son's guitar lessons this afternoon.

I did manage to list 2 new ACEO Collage Prints in My Etsy Shop.

"I'm Down Here"

"Birds In Sync"

Chances are, I won't be blogging tomorrow, as I'll be off to the beach bright and early. So...for all of you that so kindly read my daily (or semi-daily) entries, I hope that you have an inspiring Friday !!

5. CATCHING SOME RAYS

Good Morning:

Another Monday is upon us. A fresh start, or a new beginning, whichever you like. Either way, it's nothing more than a psychological way to put events from the previous days behind us and look forward to, what we hope will be better days! Well...that's how I feel today, anyway, as last week was not filled with softness or glee!!

Today is a new opportunity to start afresh, and I am hopeful to have a week without any dead birds, law enforcement or lost bank cards.

I have had a quiet sort of morning, as it was chilly enough to keep me indoors, although the sun is making it's presence known at last. I found myself just sort of wandering around my house. Appreciating my bits and pieces that sit quietly on the hutches and shelves:

Humpty Dumpty Flower Pot Sitter

Vintage Oval Print and Assorted Nests

I am a brave gal today as I am going to boldly put my bathing suit on and catch some sun with my daughter in the backyard. While I'm relaxing, I'll close my eyes and pretend that I'm here:

I haven't been to the beach yet this year, but starting next week, there will be weekly trips!!

So, as I dreadfully slink into my bikini, I will leave you with a link to My Etsy Shop, where you can find my newest listing of a set of ACEO collage prints. They are from my "Beautiful Girl" series:

Beautiful Girl : Backside

Beautiful Girl : Frontside

I hope this finds all of you enjoying your day and maybe even catching a few rays.

6. YIKES !! IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN !

Alright...here it is, May again. Which, generally speaking, is a good thing. Spring is in the air, colors are bouncing out of control in the garden and the sun shines well into the evening. Along with all of these lovely May happenings comes one dreadful and hideous task.... SHOPPING FOR A BATHING SUIT ~~ Yup, it's that time of year again. Today is the day. I'm feeling brave and hopeful (plus, I have a 10% off coupon for Old Navy). So, off we go. Just Ava and me. Mother and daughter sharing the classic yet depressing spring time ritual.

We'll make it fun as we are planning on shopping for other little goodies also. Goodies that will soothe our souls. Trinkets that will take away the sting from the scant suits that cover such small amounts of our bodies.

Never Fear. A few trips to the beach and a good tan can do wonders for a new summer bikini.

So today, we will brave the bulge and ignore the white of our winter skin. All the while knowing that, in a few weeks, we will be indulging in our favorite summer "activity". Long, luxurious days, lying on our colorful striped beach chairs. Listening to the crash of the waves. A soft salt in the air and a cold Diet Coke in hand.

In honor of today's ritual, I have listed a print of my ACEO "Arizona Sunbathers" in My Etsy Shop.
