26. Super Sparkly News!!!

Right now, I feel like I've consumed ALL of these:

Because...

My amazing editor, Kate Angelella, who is a total , has decided that she's willing to put up with my overly caffeinated phone calls, Twittering in her presence and my obsession with R Pattz and has asked me to write books 9-12 in the Canterwood Crest series!!

Dance party! :)

This means Sasha and friends get to ride on for four more books!

To everyone who made it happen (again!!) I'm so, so grateful and am thrilled to have all of you on Team Canterwood! Aladdin MIX = awesome.

I'm in total shock right now and can't even find the words to express how happy I am to be able to continue the stories of Sasha and her friends. I *never* thought I'd have twelve books. Never. And it would not have happened without the amazing, continued support of people who've backed me all the way.

I looked back through my blog and my last book deal was in December. So many things have changed since then, but my intense love for my books hasn't. If anything, it has grown because of the wonderful fans who love the books and show it!

And this time last year? I was squeeing on the phone with EK when she sent me the cover for TAKE THE REINS, my first book.

Insane.

*breathes*

The books will continue on the bi-monthly pub schedule, so stay tuned for dates, covers and all of that fun stuff coming soon.

Again, I want to thank Kate for working side-by-side with me on this crazy schedule, for loving the books as much as I do and for listening to all of my insecurities and being the first one to know that I can do this. I'm beyond grateful to you for everything.

27. Good Luck, Good News, Good Grief!

I wanted to send my love, hugs, best wishes, and cheers to fellow Buzz Girls, Tera and Tina for the Rita Awards this week in Washington, DC. Even though I can't be there, I'm with you gals in spirit and I hope there's a tie and they have to give you each a pretty golden trophy.

I have some awesome news to share! My wonderful editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has signed me on to do TWO more titles in the GHOST HUNTRESS series, bringing the total number of books to five! I couldn't be happier!!! I'm hard at work finishing up Book 3 - GHOST HUNTRESS: THE REASON and can't wait to come up with ideas for books #4 and #5!

I've been on the go since June 17th, traveling around, doing conferences, selling books, doing signings, seeing friends and family. It's been exhausting, but exhilarating at the same time. I've been able to spend some down time at the beach and I got to parasail (wow!) and go waverunning with dolphins (double wow!) and snorkel and just enjoy the summer sun. But there's work to be done. As I said, I have to turn in Book 3, start promoting Book 2 and also start promoting my non-fiction book THE OTHER SIDE: A TEEN'S GUIDE TO GHOST HUNTING AND THE PARANORMAL, as well as my other non-fiction book CHRISTMAS MIRACLES. I'm headed to Baton Rouge, LA this weekend for the BabelCon Conference and then will be headed back to Boston to regroup.

To anyone going to the RWA National Conference in DC, have a great time!!

Hugs,
Marley = )

28. Can't get enough on ghost hunting?

I'm pleased to finally be able to announce a new book deal! Whooohoooo!!

General/Non-Fiction: GHOST HUNTRESS YA series author Marley Gibson with star of truTV's HAUNTING EVIDENCE Patrick Burns's and KTLK FM's Darkness Radio host Dave Schrader's GHOST HUNTING: THE INS AND OUTS OF PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS, a look at the how-to's of proper and effective paranormal investigations, again to Julia Richardson at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, by Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency (NA).
And check out the awesome cover!

This "how to" guide will be out in September and will be a companion to my GHOST HUNTRESS series. If you've ever wanted to know the ins and outs of proper ghost hunting...this is the book for you. It's available pre-order from Amazon.com!

I had a blast writing it and I hope the amateur ghost hunters and huntresses will pick it up and enjoy what they learn. It was fun writing a non-fic book and it was especially nice to get it done with two reknowned people in the paranormal field, Patrick Burns and Dave Schrader, who have been nothing but supportive of me since I got into ghost investigations.

Thanks for letting me share!

29. Thanks, everyone! :)

Thank you ALL so much for your comments about my new deal! I'm still replying to e-mails, MySpace messages and Facebook notes. It means so much that I have friends who are excited about Canterwood Crest. :) Yay!

One of the most...erm..."interesting" comments I got about my deal was, "Yeah, but more horse books? There are just horses? And girls? Do the girls ever have any life changing experiences?"

Well, um, I guess you'll find out when you read them!

Aside from that, I'm so excited and am working through the weekend to stay on schedule. People seemed to enjoy my PR Ninja post, so I'll try to do another one next week.

Happy weekend!

30. Some non-YA news!

Sorry for the late post...was on an airplane all day Wednesday. However, I wanted to share some very good news that I've been busting to tell!! From yesterday's Publishers Marketplace, a new book deal for yours truly.

Non-fiction:
Religion/Spirituality

NYT bestselling author Cecil Murphey and young adult author Marley Gibson's CHRISTMAS MIRACLES, featuring short stories from everyday people who've had their lives miraculously touched at Christmastime, to Rose Hilliard at St. Martin's, in a nice deal, for publication in fall 2009, by Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency (NA).

If you or anyone else you know has a Christmas Miracle story to share, please contact me and we may include your story in the book.

Thanks!
