1. I Can't Do Everything!

Although I would love to keep up with this blog and my new YA Christian Indie book review blog, I just can't do both (not to mention my other commitments, hobbies, and writing the second book in my series)!  Honestly, I've never been great at writing about myself, so reviewing books for other authors is the obvious choice.  So, while I'll certainly update this blog occasionally, I would invite you to join me on YA Christian Books and help get the word out about all of the great YA Indie books!

See you over there~

5. A 5-Star Review!

I LOVE it when readers enjoy my book and take the time out of their very busy days to write a review.  It absolutely makes my day. Here's a review I received from Joy H.

"Going from a life of luxury - living with a rich step-dad - to a small cozy home with her mom should have been a difficult move for Ember Matthews, but in truth, she welcomed the change. You see, Ember Matthews has a gift that most people don’t have. With her special gift, she is able to see things, and know things that no one else does. As Ember grows closer to God this gift blossoms more and more. But will Ember be able to use her gift, or will she be overwhelmed at what it involves? Join author Tammy Hill in her debut novel, “Knowing: A Series of Gifts,” to follow this wonderful story and see just how Ember Matthews uses her special, God-given gift.

Ember’s story is very interesting and intriguing! From the first pages, you will find yourself engrossed in the story of her life as she seeks to do what she feels God wants her to do with her gift. Tammy created a wonderful cast of characters that tell the story in a way that keeps you interested and keeps those pages turning until the very last one. You will certainly enjoy reading about this teenager and the unique spiritual gift that the author so wonderfully writes about. I was amazed at the entire story, and felt honored to have the chance to read and review it for Tammy. I encourage you to grab a copy of “Knowing” to read for your own enjoyment. You will not be disappointed, and it is well worth your time!"

7. Sassy Pants Makes Amends

Sassy Pants Makes Amends, is a tale for all ages; it models how to go about “fixing a friendship when you are the one who broke it.” In the first story, Sassy Pants, she went about breaking everything—rules, friendships, her mother’s heart…In this story Sassy Pants practices her apology and with Molly's moral support delivers it and then asks for forgiveness. With that accomplished she comments that apology and forgiveness were just the first part. Now she wants to do amends to help the ones she hurt trust her again. It was a lot of hard work, but worth the effort!

The Sassy Pants series is a great set for young readers. Each book comes with a code in the back to download a free audio version of the book. Burn your own CD and viola you have entertainment on the road, or read-along practice to develop reading fluency, so many uses! To say nothing of all the conversations the story evokes. There is also a free parent/teacher manual see downloadables on her website.

Recovery groups have made great use of the story. The explanation of amends is simple and straight forward; it helps many in 12 Step programs. For more information you may go to http://sassypantsco.blogspot.com

18. The Longest Season

Back home, we had a spurt of warm, humidity-free weather and called it spring.  Here in France, spring is like the energizer bunny--It just keeps on going.  It's a wonderful, new experience for me.   I'm enjoying every second as I watch the Plane trees slowly go from bald, knobby things to displaying majestic green leaves the size of elephant ears.

Large Plane Trees by Vincent van Gogh
The dry and dusty looking vineyard across the valley is smattered with green, promising grapes. The café owners are taking down their plastic screens and placing tables along the street for the patrons to get better views of passersby as they sip their cafes.

Last week, I was also privileged to see Paris in the spring.  Yes, it was cool and rainy but it was, well...Paris.  I've added a few photos I took on our visit.  Enjoy and don't forget...ONE WEEK FROM TODAY is the BLOG HOP.  Come back for a chance to win my novel and another special prize!

24. The Big Reveal

When I posted about being unsure about the book cover options available to me, someone advised me to follow my instincts.  I did.  Instead of choosing one of the three covers, I suggested one of my own.  They liked it...and so do I.  Here is the cover of my new book!

25. Working Vacation

I'm officially vacationing back in the States for two weeks.  Unofficially, I'm plowing ahead with my publishing house to market the book.  Last week, as I ate my way through most of the American food chains, my manuscript left for the printer, sell sheets were created, and work on a book trailer and new website started.  It's really coming together!  I'll reveal the book cover next post, so make sure to check back soon and mark your calendars...

...the official release date is June 5th 2012!
