IT all started when my daughter was around 13 misbehaving at school , bunking off etc, creeping out in the middle of the night to meet friends to go drinking up the park. Anyway things got progressively worse in that she got thrown out of school at around 14. We were up that school it seems every other day with one thing or another. She decided she no longer wanted to live with us as her parents, and moved into a school friends house with her mother a single parent. Nothing we could do, Social Services did not want to know, or help us get our child back.
After a time, she must of met an older man, who groomed her (is the best way of putting it, he was 30 years old.) The family she was living with, asked her to move out, after the mother had died of cancer. My daughter at the time was coming up to 15, we were hardly speaking, she must of met a man (who I can only describe as groomed her.) He had no job, mental health problems, but lived in one of the council flats round the back of us. After a time I saw my daughter, and she spoke with me. Told me they never had much in the way of money or food, but she loved him. I asked her to return home, which she refused to do. We gave her money, food and helped the best way we could. They were clearly sleeping together, as only one bedroom, and she told me this. She was 15 years old, a minor. I went home and called Social Services, who refused to do anything . So I called the Police, as this man was age 30, and living with a child as his other half. They to did not want to know, until I insisted they paid him a visit. They duly did this, and reported back to me that there was no evidence to suggest that they had been sleeping together, even though they shared the same bed, and she was on the birth control pill.
Around a year and a half things started to burn themselves out, and I found out he was abusing her with his fists. And had tried to drown her a few times when she took a bath. She was from what I saw a scared child, who was being treated badly! She returned home and we put what had happened behind her.
No one should put up with abuse child or adult!
She in time healed, and got her own place and carried on her apprenticeship, she is now 28 years old. And I thankfully have my daughter back! She will never forget, but has thankfully moved on. Not so long ago this man found out where she worked, and was hanging around trying to make contact. He also found out where she lived, and was pestering her at home.
The police were called, and thankfully, he was warned to stay clear of her.
Both the Police, and Social services, need to do more to protect all children. My daughter has been left scared and damaged for life.
I urge everyone of you to speak out on abuse, as if you don't it will continue, and no one will be helped! We all need to share our story .
My daughter now has to carry a rape alarm everywhere, as she is scared he will come after her. This is no way to live, in fear of your life. Speak out be that voice for the children all Child abuse must stop!
