New commission by Toft's Ice Cream will be completed in early March. This is a rough color sketch that will be used for laying out this 8' X 12' mural on the interior wall of the shop located in Knollcrest Plaza in Port Clinton, Ohio

We have not been approached before to produce a mural but it involves a larger, much larger, version of what we have rendered in the past as far as style in Greeting Cards, Calendars, Gift Wrap, Children's Books and other products over the past 45+ years.

If you are in the area, stop by and view the progress, we will be devoting roughly 4 hours per day, so it will be by chance that we can stop and chat with you.

A new Children's Book based on the upcoming celebration of the war of 1812 - The Battle of Lake Erie. The manuscript is attached to this posting. It's a fun and educational book based on the history of the battle and a whimsical storyline that illuminates the wonderful family attractions that this location has to offer.
We encourage you and your family to visit the "Lake Erie Shores & Islands" and enjoy a memorable historic and educational vacation. Gulliver will be waiting to assist you!

      Jodie & Grant were invited to the Immaculate Conception Elementary School in Port Clinton, OH., to present a program to 80 Pre-K through 5th graders, on December the 14th.

      The children learned through a Power Point presentation how a 3/D Nativity set was produced by Jodie. First the rough pencil were shown, then the front and side view of each little character, then the color was applied and e-mailed overseas for the mold makers to generate the figures, the prototypes were then forwarded to Jodie & Grant for their approval before going into production.
   
      Each child (and Teacher) received one of Jodie's 48 page coloring books based on this "Destination Location."

      Two pieces of Jodie's original artwork will be displayed within the Toledo-Lucas county Public Library. The pieces of art are from her recently published books "The 12 Days of Christmas" and "Jesus Loves Me" The books are available throughout the country at Books-A-Million stores.

      These new additions of original art are part of a large collection of National & Internationally recognized Children's Book Illustrators. The selection committee consisited of representatives from the Library: (L-R) Nancy Eames, Posy Huebner, Cynthia Vanderbrink. The artwork will become a part of the Library Legacy Foundation-Robert L. & Posy Huebner Collection.

Installation ceremonies will be conducted on June 12th at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 325 Michigan Street, Toledo, OH.

        Many people have inquired about seeing Jodie's Children's Books on-line and also in book stores. The fact of the matter Jodie and her husband, Grant, have collaborated on over 60 children's books and many have been translated into many foreign languages and have been distributed throughout the world. They have also been commissioned to develop greeting cards, gift wrap, stationery, calendars, plush toys, wall decor and countless other products since leaving American Greetings in 1972.
        A small sample of a Alphabet series of books shown above (top) won the Chicago Artists & Authors Roundtable Award, she has won many other awards and is a juried member of international Illustrators, the PBAA. She was also recently been inducted into the internationally known Mazza Museum on a permanent basis.
        A few of her other book titles are shown above. Her first ebook is displayed below, the cover is being matted and framed and will be on display at the museum in June of 2012, it is the first ebook in the Mazza Museum.

     One of Jodie's newer releases portrays the end of summer in quaint Lakeside, Ohio. Fall is on it's way and the children are packing up and spending the last few days on their favorite pastime.
     Each year this community of Victorian style homes offers music, drawing and the culinary arts to its agenda. These venues are offered to the residents of the community and also the public. A place where you can rest assured that your children are save as they ride their bikes or join the many different activities that are offered throughout the spring, summer & fall months.

  This new image of the Marblehead Lighthouse was just released on Sept. 2nd 2011. It was painted by Donald Boncela who has been commisssioned by many large companies that have secured his work to include in their Fine Art collections. They include the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University Hospitals, General Electric Collection, Ducks Unlimited to name a few. He taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art for 7 years.
His work is represented by the Jodie McCallum Fine Art Gallery in Marblehead, OH.
  This new painting has been converted into Gicl'ee prints in 3 different sizes: Canvas Print at 28" X 38",
Large Paper Print at 22" X 31" and Small Paper Print at 16" X 22".

art after hours is a new venue that will be starting in April of 2010. It will consist of samplings of some fine wines, provided by our local great wineries. Hor'dourves, by many of our fine restaurants. Door Prizes from merchandise within the Gallery.
Meet some of our 25 Fine Artists - Come and join us on the first Friday of each month for an evening of food, wine, good conversation and friendship. You need not be present for the door prizes.
FIRST FRIDAY of EACH MONTH from 5:00 pm - 9:00pm.

The ever popular DBC Jazz & Blues Band featuring GRAMMY-AWARD Winning Michael Calhoun will be performing on the Gallery Patio during the season final'e of "The Art of it All" on Saturday, October 10th. This coincides with the popular "Lighthouse Festival" on the Marblehead Peninsula.
Joining the band will be several of the Gallerie's juried & signature Artists, who will be demonstrating their various specialties in the visual arts. The culinary delights will be supplied by Bruno's Restaurant and the fine Signature Wines will be supplied by Mutach's Market. There is limited seating on the patio, so you might want to bring a folding chair. There is plenty of parking around the Gallery and overflow parking is available across the street. Come and join us for this FREE cultural event. 11:00am - 9:00pm.
