1. When a Woman Takes an Axe to a Wall…

I think as women we all tend to feel a bit powerless sometimes. Whether it’s mentally, emotionally or physically, most of us were raised to believe we’re the “weaker” sex. This isn’t only wrong (on so many levels), it just isn’t true.

“We’ve come a long way baby…”

Women can be anything they want to be thanks to the beginning of the sexual revolution of the sixty’s. Gone are the days of the traditional wife role, as women are growing more and more independent with each passing generation.

Allegra Bennett’s book, “When a Woman Takes an Axe to a Wall (where is she really trying to go”) pays a huge and long overdue homage to women who have broken away from the “you’re just a girl…”mentality.

This book is filled with inspirational, touching, and humorous stories of real-life women who took control over their lives, and the houses they lived in - without any help from their “stronger” male counterparts.

And I’m not just talkin’ small do-it-yourself jobs. I mean huge renovations that would make any “Joe-Builder” hand over his hammer to her. What’s their secret? These women weren’t afraid of the sometimes daunting task ahead of them and the life lessons they learned along the way. As any women will tell you there’s no better feeling of accomplishment or empowerment when a tough task is completed – imagine that feeling after a HUGE renovation!

So come on women, before you flip through those yellow pages looking for a handy-man, pick up a copy of, “When a Woman Takes an Axe to a Wall…” Who knows? You may just be inspired enough to grab an axe and she what lies behind your own four walls.
