1. A fun way to relieve stress: for MLIS students, faculty and youth?

…fun and “scientifically proven” by a prof at McGill. I just played the demo — it is worth checking out.

8. Fab

This was an older graphite caricature of the "Fab 4" Beatles which I have used as a portfolio piece for years...so I guess this could be used with the "bug" theme.

Here's my entry for SFG:BUGS...

I've been reading a lot of Edgar Allen Poe lately and I just finished The Gold Bug from his Tales of Mystery and Imagination and I thought this would be a good excuse to post the final illustration.

11. Bug Bingo!

This one's an oldie ( I'll leave it up to you whether it's a goodie ) from back in ought four. Two page "Creepy Crawly Bingo" game spread for chickaDEE magazine. Sans copy it don't make a whole heckuva lotta sense but the general gist ( I think he was a camp counselor of mine once! ) was that the kids roll a die and cover the creature ( not all bugs, but close enough to count ) with the corresponding number of dots. First to get all six on their card wins!

12. SFG: bugs

The word theis week on sugarfrostedgoodness.com is "bugs"

arbeh
My inspiration for this drawing actually came from...me! When I was in art school (many years ago), I did a series of illustrations for a cocktail recipe book. I selected four mixed drinks, each accompanied by an illustration. I did "Grasshopper" as one of them.... and now, twenty-something years later, the grasshopper shows his face again. Still holding his namesake drink, but this time, also holding his namesake dessert cake.

It's good to be a bee.
Or so I imagine. Flying around, rolling around on flowers...

15. SFG: Bugs

This week's theme: Bugs.

For you newcomers, the SFG Challenge runs Thursday to Thursday, and was created to offer every member an opportunity to stretch their creative muscles and post their interpretations on a specific theme. It's a lot of fun!

Be sure to label your illustrations with the appropriate labels as well. I prefer you label your entries with your name or screenname, and the challenge label, SFG: Bugs.
Remember, this is a completely voluntary challenge designed solely to stimulate creativity and promote participation. Please don't hesitate to post your other work as normal.

Be sure to check out and get involved over at the SFG Forum, some great stuff going on over there every day.

The Blank Book Project is underway, I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out! So exciting! A special thank you to all participants, this is going to be so much fun! Track the progress and view updates on the Blank Book's journey by logging on to the Blank Book website.

The next challenge begins Thursday, September 6th, 2007.

Challenge yourselves SFG'ers and have a great week!

-Jeff
