Sometimes when I get ready to leave the house, my dog Rat seems to worry. Once he realizes that he will not be coming with me he looks sad and let down. This can cause me a little guilt but I promise him I will be right back with a walk in his future and I leave him with a few cookie bribes. He seems to look a little less worried...
My submission for Illustration Friday's "worry" is a small layered dimensional painting "House Sitting" and it is made with Foam board, clay, wood, acrylic paint and resin.

Love this little image and the tale of your dog. My best little friend, Iona, wanted me to do a picture of a dog having to stay at home. She just got a 'rescue dog' for her 12th birthday and knows how they worry when left alone!

Val, I didn't take Emma Lou with me to my last animal communication class. She pouted and huffed. It was too cold and wet outside. So one of my students blurts out, "Oh that's terrible. You promised her! She's mad at you." Sigh.
I am dogsitting Bubbles again. I have been sick again and I had to call my husband and children by cell phone to get me things because they were all over the place and were busy. When they realized I was sick then they became very attentive. However, during all those times, there was one constant companion who slept beside me, jumped on top of me, snuggled with me and just stayed with me - my dearest friend's dog Bubbles. I believe that pets do feel the vibes and they protect their owners.

Such a cute story about Rat. My kitty Joey used to have the worst separation anxiety when he was an only child. He used to throw himself between the door and eye and make barley audible, raspy, meowing sounds. He's pretty blasé about it all now that he has two playmates.
