Remember that kid who made that great video for How to Steal a Dog for his school project?
He got an A+!
Here's what he wrote to me:
"As I said before, I loved the book. Originally, I just got it from the library, but I just bought it earlier this week. By the way, I got an A+. Thanks for writing such a good book!"
For your viewing pleasure, his video [note: the sound takes a couple of seconds to kick in]:

Seriously, I have no problem with a Pogues song being used for a commercial. But, it just seems very strange that Sunny Side of the Street is being used to sell Cadillacs. (It's the one called "Morning Ritual"). I really admire the person who thought of this and convinced the company to produce it, because it's just so bizarre. In case you're having time understanding Shane MacGowan's singing, the lyrics are here.
Eh, at least it's not Rain Street.
Yay! That rocks.
And, on a smaller stage, How to Steal a Dog is also featured in my presentation on "Genre and Voice" this weekend at the CNU Writers Conference! (I'll be reading the opening paragraphs.)
Congratulations!
