1. The Lost Poet

I’m a lost poet in a land of lost souls, where no one dreams nor dares to be inspired, where honor holds no meaning. A land where women and men can’t comprehend or fail to understand the importance and purpose of their stand.

I’m a lost poet in a land where humans have lost their true beauty, when they think it’s cool counting heads of all the people they’ve used, with sex as the number one tool, it’s not cool, respect your bodies.

I’m a lost poet in a land of cruelty, where we fight and kill our own brothers or shout and lash out profanities at our own birth mothers, respect, there is none.

I’m a lost poet in a land of lust, where we never give up until we fulfill our rush, enough is enough, in this land of lust which causes men to sin and women to degrade themselves, what happened to saving ourselves for that hand in marriage, we’ve come undone, But what do we expect when that’s all we see on our T.V. sets.

I’m a lost poet in land of vanity, where mirrors hang on every wall, we dress to impress or have operations to increase the size of our chests, I stumble and mutter it, what will come next? where is the natural beauty, I see none.

I’m a lost poet in land of insanity, where sex slaves are sold and child pornography is a billion dollar a year industry, are you kidding me? What has come of thee? A sick nation of insanity!

I’m a lost poet in a land of Hunger, where we walk past the homeless and never look back will make a crack and pass it off with a laugh; you know he’ll buy liquor with that. That’s so sad; I wonder how he got like that. Come on, are you that bad? Has your heart turned… black?, have some compassion for that man, or all the children dying of starvation in such mass numbers, I pity you the comfy in slumber.

I’m a lost poet in a land of bloodshed, where our government won’t hesitate to stain the floor red for an unpaid debt or wage war for profits and more, we mustn’t close the door, yet take a stand, where infamy is at hand. Though not like my brothers in Israel who kill over holy land, the same sand my Lord, my Kind, the Prince of Peace stood in and preached, love and peace is what I scream to my brothers in the Middle East., and to all my brothers and sisters from my streets.

I’m a lost poet in a land where I don’t fit in, a desolate end, a new generation of sin, we must fight it from within, a never ending battle with him, you know to whom I speak, the dark one who drops us to our knees and is pleased when we break the commandments of the holy three. Father please forgive me!

I’m a lost poet in a land where I wish peace and beg to understand the meaning of life at hand, father open my eyes to all the lies that have been spread, rescue me from all the government and religion embedded in my head, may I be wise and think a few steps ahead,

De-Americanize me instead! Captivate me; teach me to see what you see, let me see it through your eyes.

Let me see far past the fruits and plains of these trees, far past all the worldly things the games and the fame, the war and disease which plague these streets.

Release me from the chains that shackle my feet, which won’t allow me to dream or be all that I can be, lift me high above the sky’s and the heavens so true.

Set me free from myself, shelter me, grant me thoughts of perfect purity so I may stand with you in perfect unity and may no longer be A Lost Poet, in this land which has been chosen for me.
